known for the Ohio FirstEnergy bribery case. 

Husted was a defense witness in the largest corruption case in Ohio history.[34] In March 2026, he testified in the criminal trial of former FirstEnergy executives Chuck Jones and Michael Dowling related to the Ohio FirstEnergy bribery scandal.[35][36][37][38] Testifying remotely, Husted said he was present at a dinner meeting in 2018 with then governor-elect DeWine and two FirstEnergy executives who were later indicted in a $60 million bribery scheme to pass House Bill 6, which provided $500 million in state bailout funds for nuclear and coal power plants.[39]

In 2024, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported an email obtained through a public records request. The email indicated that in 2017 FirstEnergy had donated $1 million earmarked "Husted campaign" to Freedom Frontier, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization that does not disclose its donors. A Husted spokesperson said that the campaign had not received the donation.[40]

The scandal led to a 20-year sentence for former Ohio House of Representatives speaker Larry Householder and charges for three others involved in bribery in 2021.[41][42] Husted's 2026 testimony was part of a related trial of FirstEnergy executives that resulted in a mistrial in March and is scheduled for retrial in September.[43]

When the dust settled, it was a solid night for Democrats and their allies: According to ABC News projections, Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear won reelection in Kentucky, and Ohio voters passed Issue 1 to codify abortion rights in the state constitution. The AP also projected that Democrats won both chambers of the Virginia legislature and an open seat on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. However, there were a few bright spots for Republicans: ABC News projected that Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves beat back a strong challenge from Democrat Brandon Presley.

And Democrats took full control of the Virginia statehouse, blocking Republicans from being able to pass new abortion restrictions and delivering a defeat to Gov. Glenn Youngkin that may douse any buzz about a late entry into the GOP presidential primary.

Long before Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio was a far-right Republican congressman, he was an assistant wrestling coach. And Tavia Galonski, a Democrat who serves in Ohio’s state government, is recommending that Jordan be subpoenaed as part of a sexual abuse probe of someone Jordan once worked with.
The late Dr. Richard Strauss has been accused of sexually abusing members of the wrestling team at Ohio State University — where he was a physician for that team, and where Jordan was an assistant wrestling coach from 1986-1994. Strauss committed suicide in 2005, and men who were on the team have come forward with allegations that he sexually abused them.

HIPPA is a law written to protect gays that wanted to remain in the closet.

 When a person's health records are leaked to the press and that person has AIDS, many readers jump to the conclusion that the infected person is GAY. The tragic side effect of the HIPPA law is that it prevents sharing of data between doctors offices. In 1976 I worked for a computer company that was going to revolutionize medical record keeping and distribution by using computers to store health records. That dream failed to happen because of this LAW. Every time you go to a new doctor you have to tell them all your medical history because they are prevented from accessing your health records. I personally don't care if someone else is GAY. However, this law does cause problems for the majority of people... What if you go to the hospital and you are so badly injured that you can't talk? It would be very good if an emergency room could access your medical records. But they can't. Because some people don't want to come out of the closet.

We ought to repeal HIPPA. Not many people get AIDS anymore because a huge number of Gays already died. The need to keep health care records secret is outweighed by the benefit of sharing it. Health Information Privacy Protection Act.

What ever happened to AIDS? Does anyone ever get it anymore? I remember that long ago thousands of Gay Men died but I haven't heard anything in years. They made a quilt and spread it over the Mall in Washington DC. It was big.

I guess that the last thing I heard was that Millions of People in Africa Died. And If you visited a prostitute in Bangkok, Thailand You were Likely to Die... But Really... Is AIDS Over? G.O.P.-Led Senate Panel Affirms Russia Attacked Election, and Urges Action. As President Trump amplifies unsubstantiated claims of Ukrainian interference in the 2016 election, the Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee reaffirmed on Tuesday that Russian operatives engaged in a widespread social media campaign to improve his chances in the race.



In a report, the committee backed up the conclusions of the intelligence community, the special counsel and researchers that Russia mounted a broad campaign to interfere in the election. A Russian troll farm central to the election campaign supported “Donald Trump at the direction of the Kremlin,” the committee said.




A GOP-led Senate intel committee report states the obvious: Russia favored Trump in 2016. Trump should really take a look at this Senate report.

HIPPA is a law written to protect gays that wanted to remain in the closet.

 When a person's health records are leaked to the press and that person has AIDS, many readers jump to the conclusion that the infected person is GAY. The tragic side effect of the HIPPA law is that it prevents sharing of data between doctors offices. In 1976 I worked for a computer company that was going to revolutionize medical record keeping and distribution by using computers to store health records. That dream failed to happen because of this LAW. Every time you go to a new doctor you have to tell them all your medical history because they are prevented from accessing your health records. I personally don't care if someone else is GAY. However, this law does cause problems for the majority of people... What if you go to the hospital and you are so badly injured that you can't talk? It would be very good if an emergency room could access your medical records. But they can't. Because some people don't want to come out of the closet.

We ought to repeal HIPPA. Not many people get AIDS anymore because a huge number of Gays already died. The need to keep health care records secret is outweighed by the benefit of sharing it. Health Information Privacy Protection Act.
