Today the Supreme Court blocked the disclosure to the House Judiciary Committee of grand jury materials from the investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller. The Department of Justice had asked the court 13 days ago to put the release of the materials on hold while it appeals a ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit that would require it to provide portions of the Mueller report that had been redacted, along with grand jury transcripts and materials that had been kept secret.

Preventing California's Wildfires: Stop Climate Change OR Increase Logging to remove fuel? Or Do Both? We Are Burning Up Now and Next Year Will BE WORSE.

Interior Secretary Zinke says that increasing logging would make people safer because there would be fewer trees to burn... and firefighters could put out the fires easier... Of course, if we simply used ONE THOUSAND helicopters to dump water on the fires we could put them out. Why not bring all the Helicopters home from the wars in Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Africa? We could employ the soldiers as firefighters... bring them home and keep them safe...

Do not increase logging in the Redwood Forest. We are logging at a good rate already. The people that run the Pacific Lumber (Now known as Humboldt Redwood Company and Mendocino Redwood Company) are doing a fine job already. No Logging of OLD GROWTH... Cut only as much as grows every year and we can log forever. Redwoods grow in a cool and rainy climate and we have not had a lot of wildfires here...

Should we remove trees in Pine, Oak and Douglas Fir forests in order to reduce hazards? Does that makes sense at all. The people at "The Earth Island Institute" say that increased logging does not make us safer...

But Pine, Oak and Fir trees grow quickly and if we cut down the forest... or "Thin" the forest (as Zinke says) we can plant new trees and they will grow quickly... We do use boards to build houses... but there is no real need to Log OLD GROWTH REDWOODS for lumber... It is possible to build a fine home without Redwood Boards... Why NOT log pine, oak and Fir forests?

On family day, my brother took us to visit Lawrence Livermore Lab. I remember the Shiva Project.

 It was a Fusion Nuclear Power Plant Prototype. You may have seen it as the movie "TRON" had a few scenes filmed there. It was a fundamentally valid idea but it never created more power than it took to run the machine. They took a drop of "Heavy" Water and focused many giant laser beams on it from all directions. The idea was that the heat would cause the hydrogen to FUSE into helium. Just like it does in the SUN. When they turned on the power the lights of the city of Livermore would dim. Martin worked in Biology at the Lab.

Generate pure Water for plants, livestock, drinking, bathing, washing cars or creating perfect ice cubes for a Scotch on the Rocks... Since this is distilled water, there maybe there is a way to bottle it and sell it to factories or Nestle... It could be the base for a series of beverages with natural flavorings... fennel for a licorice taste or cinnamon, nutmeg, tea, lemon peels etc. etc. etc.

Please share this information... If we built a hundred of these Solar Desalination plants all along the coast of California, Oregon and Washington we could create a moist rainy climate downwind. Much better than wildfires.
