Would Anyone Propose that We Need Affirmative Action in the National Basketball Association to Counter Historic Discrimination Against Whites, Hispanics, Orientals and Native Americans. Of Course Not! That seems Absurd... But In Reality, Affirmative Action ALWAYS Seems Absurd.

I remember a Scholarship Offered by Microsoft that had the words "Women and Minorities Encouraged to Apply." and I assumed that White Men Had No Chance... So I didn't apply... Self Discriminating Myself... 

Don't Do That! Learn from my Mistake and Go Ahead and Apply... It's Entirely Possible that they are Including those words to Comply with a Government Regulation!

At My Job with the county of Humboldt, EVERYONE Could Apply... What the County Did was Everyone took a TEST... To See if You Could Read and Write and Spell ENGLISH, To See If You Could Do Arithmetic Using Only a Pencil, and If You Could Read a Chart... 

That Test Eliminated the Really Stupid People... 

Of Course there are Many Other Employment Opportunities... BOTH The Crips and The Bloods are Hiring Crack Cocaine Salesmen... and M13 is Recruiting in Los Angeles... 

They offer excellent Retirement Packages with Free Room and Board in America's Prison System!

The Original TRON was filmed in 1982 when the first computer graphics were possible. Fantastic Special Effects and an Interesting PLOT! Partially filmed at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory at the Shiva Nuclear Fusion experiment. The Computer That Sucks Jeff Bridges in is at the LAB... He is sitting at a Terminal and His Body Gets Scanned...

I especially like visiting the Redwood Forests of Northern California. The Movie "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi" was filmed near Crescent City.

The Ewok Villages and the Forest Moon of Endor. The flying motorcycle scenes were filmed by having the Stedicam Inventor, Garrett Brown walk thru the woods following the path they travel... and then Industrial Light and Magic bluescreened in the Actors and Flying Motorcycles...

On Highway 101 traveling North from Eureka, just past Trinidad, there is a rest stop with a paved footpath that looks just like the movie... A little imagination and you can hear the little teddy bear people singing and playing the drums...

On family day, my brother took us to visit Lawrence Livermore Lab. I remember the Shiva Project.

 It was a Fusion Nuclear Power Plant Prototype. You may have seen it as the movie "TRON" had a few scenes filmed there. It was a fundamentally valid idea but it never created more power than it took to run the machine. They took a drop of "Heavy" Water and focused many giant laser beams on it from all directions. The idea was that the heat would cause the hydrogen to FUSE into helium. Just like it does in the SUN. When they turned on the power the lights of the city of Livermore would dim. Martin worked in Biology at the Lab.

One time Martin took me to a Biology Trade Show in Washington DC at a big Hotel. A BioTech Company from England had invented a single celled animal that TASTED LIKE CHICKEN. We ate some... It was illegal for a BioTech Company to design and grow food in the USA but the laws allowed it in England. Quite like Zymoveal out of Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Books. I still believe that it's a good idea. I think it ate oil... Could solve World Hunger.
