I just saw a discussion in a local group about an annual event called Christmas in the Park. Someone in the comments brought up another local annual event called Holiday Lights, and this person complained that it uses the word "holiday." Then the person proceeded to complain that they're not ALLOWED to say "Christmas" anymore. The entire discussion started because people were talking about CHRISTMAS in the Park! Obviously people are allowed to say "Christmas." I honestly don't understand where people are getting this ridiculous notion that somehow the word "Christmas" is taboo, simply because some people would rather use the more inclusive word "holiday." Nobody ever said that you're not allowed to say "Christmas"! It's absolutely bizarre that people continue to spread this falsehood!

and HO Said: People are convinced that there's a 'war on Christmas' because we want to make the holidays inclusive of other non-Christian religions. It is ridiculous.

and SE Replied: This particular exchange was especially bizarre to me, because they were talking about two upcoming events, one of which has "Christmas" in the name, and the other which has "Holiday" in the name. But apparently the fact that they BOTH don't have "Christmas" in the name is what made this person feel that they "aren't allowed" to say the word. But if they truly WEREN'T allowed to say the word, the other event would change its name to "Holiday in the Park." But that hasn't happened, and there is no plan for that to ever happen, because the reality is that nobody has an issue with the word "Christmas" except for these weirdos who are convinced that they're not allowed to say it.

and I Replied: It's Just Christians "Playing the Victim Card" - It's Totally Bogus... Just Like Republicriminals are Objecting to Teaching ACCURATE HISTORY in School by Renaminging it Hypocritical Race Theory... Thankfully, the same people are refusing the COVID Vaccine are are DYING in Record Numbers... We Certainly Don't Need People LIKE THAT in the Future...

I am humbled and grateful to the millions of Californians who voted yesterday and in the weeks before to reject the division, the cynicism and so much of what has defined our politics over the last several years.

I am especially thankful to the 250,000+ donors who made 600,000 donations to our campaign, almost 90% of them from California.

I am thankful to the volunteers who knocked on doors, made phone calls, and sent texts and had conversations with millions of Californians over the last several months, chasing down every last vote until the polls closed last night.

But the no VOTE on the recall was not the only thing expressed last night and in our work leading up to this win.

We said YES to a lot as well.

We said YES to science.

We said YES to vaccines.

We said YES to ending this pandemic.

We said YES to the right to vote and to do so without fear or fake fables of fraud.

We said YES to a woman’s fundamental constitutional right to decide what to do with her body.

We said YES to diversity, inclusion and pluralism.

We said YES to economic justice, social justice, environmental justice and racial justice.

We said YES to our values.

You know, one of the things that we have all learned throughout the Trump administration, since Joe Biden won in November, and through this recall is that democracy is not a football — something to be thrown around.

We may have defeated Trump, but if you look around, Trumpism is not dead in this country. The big lie. January 6. The assault on voting rights and constitutional rights. These things are still all around us.

So I close by saying I am humbled, I am grateful, and I am resolved at the same time.

We have a lot of work to do. Let’s get back to it.

My Autobiography: Growing Up in Los Gatos, California in the 1960s by Gregory Vanderlaan - and Living in San Jose, Washington DC, Chico, Eureka and Orangevale, CA.

I Was Born in 1954. We lived Near the San Jose Airport until they Started Landing Jet Airplanes and We had to move... We went to Los Gatos in 1960. I lived there until graduation from Los Gatos High School in 1972... an Ideal Childhood... FYI: Los Gatos is about 50 miles South of San Francisco on the edge of the mountains between San Jose and Santa Cruz.

I Went to West Valley Jr. College, learned electronics drafting and got a job at System Industries in Santa Clara... I feel blessed that not only did I grow up in a great location but I also grew up at a great time. I missed the Vietnam War by ONE Year and Silicon Valley Was Hiring Like Crazy When I Needed a Job.

The US Congress had witch hunts (Joe McCarthy-HUAC) to expose "Commies" who worked in The Hollywood Movie business and blacklisted folksingers that were leading our young people astray with Labor Union Organizing songs.
