The culture of the United States was
radically different After the 1960's...

The conformism of the 1950's was blown away when LSD became widely available. Owsley made the chemical and made it available at Acid Tests with Ken Kesey and the Grateful Dead. He also gave it to the Beatles for their Magical Mystery Tour. The spirit lives on in a yearly camping trip called The Rainbow Gathering. It's like Woodstock but the performers are not paid and I'm in the Band.

The Diggers of San Francisco were a street theatre company famous for their slogan "Today is the first day of the rest of your Life." They provided free food in Golden Gate park to needy Hippies during the Summer of Love. They also created a "Free Store" where all the merchandise was free. I suppose that they were skilled in getting donations. They also walked around Haight Street with a giant picture frame that passers by could step through in order to change their "Frame of Reference." The Diggers were part of the SF mime troupe, Bill Graham worked for them also as a benefit dance promoter/arranger to raise funds by having local bands play and selling tickets. He later became the most successful rock music show promoter in the USA.

I went to the gathering with a specific goal in mind. I wanted to play my guitar and sing in public. Yes, mission accomplished. I was Living in Chico, California and working at the plastics factory. When there was a layoff, my wife suggested that I borrow the car and drive over to the gathering. My friend Mike Jensen wanted to go and so we checked the oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid and water and set out on a classic American road trip. Grateful Deadhead ART and MyStory... American History...

I first noticed the Grateful Dead in 1968 in English class at junior high school. Our teacher had put up posters on the wall of the classroom and we wrote essays about them.

He was attempting to stimulate creative WRITING but more importantly, creative THINKING.

One was an American flag made out of swastikas and another was a solarized/negative photo of 5 hairy men standing in front of "LITTLE BOXES" type suburban tract homes.

Our English teacher
stopped working for the school system that year and has never been heard of since. That has happened often to people that go to see the Dead... They change their lifestyle and start associating

"The Search for the Manchurian Candidate" by John Marks

MKULTRA: Was a CIA Mind Control Project in the USA during the 1950's and 1960's. They were looking for a way to use drugs as weapons of war. For example: LSD as a way to simply get the "enemy" to lay down their arms, voluntarily... like, too stoned to fight...

The project conducted tests on college students at Stanford University. Ken Kesey and Robert Hunter both were employed. Later, Ken started having "ACID TEST" parties where the participants took LSD and danced to the Music of the Grateful Dead. Robert Hunter wrote lyrics for the Dead.

HEADLINE: 8 arrested March 18th in Freshwater tree-sit. Trees chainsawed to death.

Freshwater Clearcut Logging near Eureka, CA

This morning I drove to Beautiful Freshwater (near Eureka, California) to visit the Tree Sitters. There were 10 sheriff's cars and 5 highway patrol cars. I saw 3 people handcuffed and then put in a sheriff's van. One person down the road was handcuffed and in the custody of a different sheriff. This lady was wearing "press" dogtags and was complaining that all she was doing was taking photographs. There were about 40 people standing around, talking on cell phones and playing drums. I could hear the sound of chainsawing. Then a large tree fell over. It makes a tearing sound then a big thump and a wail arose from the people. When four highway patrol cars stopped in the middle of the crowd and turned on their spinning lights, I left.(I was afraid of the police...protect and serve...corporations) As I was walking to my truck I noticed another highway patrolman writing tickets. I asked a citizen what that was all about and he said "don't worry about getting a parking ticket, none of these people will pay them anyway". I am concerned about the highway patrol being there. THERE CLEARLY WERE NO HIGHWAY RELATED PROBLEMS THERE. What's up with parking tickets? We were in the middle of the forest.

We went to a protest to defend redwood trees today. There are 8 people that are camping at the top of redwood trees to prevent loggers from chainsawing the trees. The owners of the forest (Palco/MAXXAM) hired a guy (eric schatz)to climb up the trees and forcibly evict the trespassers. Then the Humboldt county sheriff's arrest the tree-sitters and send them to jail. Yesterday, there were 7 tree sitters and the police arrested 3 people. Then, during the night, 4 people went up. The grand total of people INCREASED. The loggers started chainsawing at the bottom of a tree that had people camping in it. This action enraged the crowd. We feel that if a logger cuts down a tree with a person in it that it is dangerous to that person. The loggers cut away a 2 foot circle of bark all the way around the tree. Someone said that was called "girthing" and the purpose was to kill the tree. My wife decided that some medicine was needed for the tree, so we went to the hardware store and bought a bucket of "tree wound" compound. It is used to seal the bare wood after pruning. We drove back to the ecology protest and she (with help from others) spread the healing compound on the bare wood. I got to spend a lot of time talking to a knowledgeable fellow named "Atilla". He said that the MAXXAM corporation has to cut down redwood trees in order to pay the interest on a giant "junk bond" debt. MAXXAM, a texas corporation, purchased the Pacific Lumber Company about 10 years ago in a hostile takeover financed by "junk bonds" that they got from Mike Milken. (remember, Ivan Boesky and Mike went to jail for wall street fraud) I saw on the News tonight that our governor, Gray Davis, has ordered the highway patrol to work 12 hour shifts to help defend the state of California from "terrorist" attacks. GEE, WHY WERE ALL THOSE CHPs OUT IN THE FOREST TODAY ? WHAT TERRORIST ATTACKS WERE THEY DEFENDING US FROM ? Atilla also told me why there were large trucks that look like they carry sand. They are used to haul gravel to build logging roads. After I left the protest in the morning, I drove way back into the woods and noticed large orange trucks with PALCO on the doors. The reason Palco hired a subcontractor (eric schatz)to do "tree service" is to protect themselves from lawsuits in case anyone gets hurt.
How to get there: From highway 101 traveling North, Take the Myrtle ave exit in Eureka and drive to Freshwater road. Take a right and then an IMMEDIATE left onto Greenwood Heights road. Drive 2 miles. When you see all the sheriff cars, you are there. From Arcata, travel south on 101 to Indianola cutoff. Take a left and drive to Myrtle ave. Take a right on Myrtle. Left on Freshwater road.

Rainbow Gathering 2024: CALIFORNIA! Here We Come! 

The 3 days it took to reach this year’s vision counsel consensus was the shortest vision counsel I ever attended. Even when we had known for over ten years that the following year we were going to Colorado, it took 4 days to reach consensus. Some people had fancy ideas where they believed we should go.

But this year we all knew long before counsel had started that we were going to Cali. Despite that, it took 3 days to reach consensus. We needed a back up location in case of fires and had to agree on the wording.

Each day, we would nearly reach consensus. Then the sun would set. We would have to stop to reconvene the next day. Each new day would bring a few new people which had not witnessed our earlier deliberations and so could not value how hard we had carefully worked to carve out the consensuses we were trying to agree upon. We would have to work it all out over again. And as the days progressed, additional people would drop in for a bit and block things they didn’t understand just because they had not been there.

Towards the end of day three one sister proposed a brilliant idea. She requested that there be one round of passing the feather where only those which identified as a woman would talk. This she proposed so we could listen to the sisters voices. One sister read through the issues sent from the Rainbow Family Counsel, which had met daily, throughout the gathering. She then proceeded to call for consensus on one of the more agreeable of the 2 issues the counsel had sent. It quickly and easily passed by a silent passing of the feather. A few sisters later and a sister called for the region selection consensus. The next sister to her left accidently blocked the consensus by speaking because she was not paying attention and did not realize a consensus was being called. This sister immediately called for the consensus a 2nd time. It was immediately blocked by the brother to her left, just because he needed to talk. The next sister called for the consensus a 3rd time. Each counsel member held the feather long and made faces as if they may block consensus, just to tease all of us and keep us in suspense. But the feather made it all the way around in silence.

The quickness of the consensus did not allow us enough time to discuss all needful issues, so we continued the counsel till 1 30 in the morning. Some wanted the discussions to continue further days and to work out other consensuses which had not yet been attempted, but too few counsel members were available further days. So, the counsel closed for the year.

The region selection is= California first if it can be safely done, Oklahoma 2nd if a site can be found and Washington state if all else fails.

CB Said:

Campfires have been banned since June 29th this year and what I've read you now need campfire permits on state and federal land.

Was any research done on this?

I'm a retired wildland firefighter and I don't see any west coast state that would allow any fires, the risk is too high... 

I Replied:

maybe playing with fire is an idea whose time has passed... I noticed that the Entire Country of Canada is on Fire... NOT FUN.

CB SAID: 

There are fires up and down the west coast as we speak. People don't know that if you start a wildfire by accident or on purpose you are charged for the suppression, I'm talking 10s of millions of dollars. Are you buying a campfire permit and then letting some bliss ninny watch it for you?

I think a fire free gathering is a Great Idea... I spent a GREAT night at the Marimba Tent in California... Where they had a White Parachute above the Dancers... I had a Green LED Flashlight and a Blue LED Flashlight and I Shone those Lights on the Parachute for a Lightshow... and then Other People Showed Their Flashlights... and we all had FIRE FREE FUN...

and I replied: 

no... I brought pre-cooked food... and Raw food... Dried Fruit, Summer Sausage, M&Ms and GORP... but I did work as a Fire Tender at the Welcome Home Tent in Utah... where we DID serve Coffee to New Arrivals...

I didn't help to create the consensus. Just shared it. Not assuming anything. Only stating how it went down in the past. Personally, I ran back home from CA in 2017 because of the fires. It got to be overwhelming, checking fire maps several times a day, and I was shocked at the complacency of the locals.

But the chief reason conservatives vote Republican is out of some sense of morality. Yet this man bragged that he was a habitual sex offender, and admitted to being a pedophile. The only thing worse than his business record was his record on relationships, as he’s a serial adulterer with kids by at least three different women all of whom he cheated on. Add to that his refusal to disavow hate groups and white supremacists who supported him, his refusal to say he would accept the outcome of the election. Not to mention his own hate speech, encouraging violence at his rallies, and even mocking a reporter’s disability.

By the end of 2019, he had proven himself to be both corrupt and incompetent. He appointed white supremacists, unqualified campaign donors, and his own children to positions of power. He had already set a record for indictments, guilty pleas and criminal convictions of members of an administration. He routinely violated the Emoluments Clause and the Hatch Act, and repeatedly abused his office for personal gain. His trade war had increased the trade deficit, bankrupted American farmers forcing us to spend billions on bailouts, closed almost 2,000 American factories and killed 300,000 American jobs, and had driven up technology prices. His tax bill had slowed economic growth by two thirds, with Dow growth and the drop in unemployment both falling by about that amount in comparison to under Obama policies. The Fed started lowering interest rates for the first time since Obama was President to combat the economic slowdown, and Trump himself complained they didn’t do more to prevent a recession. He had already increased the deficit every year, maintained a debt to GDP ratio over 100% every year of his term—neither of which any President had ever done before. By the end of the year, he had been impeached, and would soon become the first President to have a Senator from his own party vote for his conviction

Then in 2020, the pandemic came and he ignored sound advice, instead pretending the virus was being exaggerated, refusing to take simple common sense measures to slow the spread, instead floating fake cures and encouraging his supporters to break the laws being put in place by state and local officials to protect their communities. As a result, we saw the largest number of new unemployment claims in history, the largest spike in unemployment since the Great Depression, and the largest point drops in the history of the Dow. His reaction was to create the largest deficit in history—double the previous record—to bail out corporations, prop up the stock market, and to pay people not to work. With gas prices at the lowest of his presidency, he forced OPEC into a two year deal to slash production to create a global oil shortage to drive up fuel prices and boost profits for oil companies.

Now as we move into 2024, since the 2020 election, he incited an insurrection where it seems he hoped his supporters would murder his own Vice President in hopes that the President Pro Tempore of the Senate might certify the fake electors he sent to Washington and steal the election. This is after making ridiculous false claims of fraud while calling states and asking them to manufacture votes for him. This led to his unprecedented second impeachment with even more Senators from his own party voting for his conviction. On his way out the door he illegally withdrew 5,000 troops from Afghanistan to sabotage our operations there. Then we found out he stole classified documents, mishandled them, denied having them, falsely claimed he had declassified them with his mind, and refused to return them, forcing a warrant to be issued to search his home. And now he’s been indicted for falsifying business records to cover up paying off a porn star so she wouldn’t disclose that he paid her for sex while he was married to his current porn star wife.

And I’m leaving out so much. Shutting down the government for the longest time in history because his own party wouldn’t fund his wall. Encouraging Russian interference in the 2016 election and committing at least ten acts of obstruction of justice to cover his actions. Freeing 5,000 Taliban terrorists in Afghanistan. Freeing thousands more ISIS terrorists in Syria. Committing a war crime by ordering the assassination of an Iranian general in violation of international treaties. Tweeting a classified photo. Forgetting what country he bombed. Redrawing a Hurricane projection map with a sharpie. Covfefe…

In short, we knew he was an incompetent, corrupt, unqualified moron in 2016. He demonstrated that in great detail during his miserable presidency, and now he keeps demonstrating how horrible a person he is on a daily basis even after leaving office.
