Sacramento County officials have agreed to pay a $1.725 million settlement to the family of a man who was killed in a 2017 deputy-involved shooting, according to the family’s attorney.
Mikel Laney McIntyre was shot and killed by deputies in 2017 after hitting a Rancho Cordova police officer and a Sacramento County sheriff's K-9 with large rocks near Highway 50, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officials said someone had called 911 after they saw McIntyre attacking a woman, who was later identified as his mother, in a shopping center parking lot.
When officers tried to detain McIntyre, he began fighting the officers and used a river rock to hit the officer and a K-9 over the head.
Deputies shot at McIntyre after the attack. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died, officials said.
“He had a mental illness and there was no consideration given to that fact when they used deadly force,” said the family attorney John Burris.

I’m writing this in response to those who call themselves a Trumpster. First off, this man is a walking talking crime wave who has zero respect for the rule of law which he has demonstrated many times and sums up by saying, and I quote: “If I were standing on 5th Ave. and shot somebody, I would get away with it.”
This kind of craziness has never been seen by any of our leaders by any party and to wear a had or shirt and support this man who with without morals, principles or knows no bounds and things he is above the law, those people have to start to think what was it they see in this man?
What does he have to do to convince you he is not on the side of the working class or average American taxpayer? How much more damage does this man have to do to our Republic and Constitution and how many more laws must he break before he is removed from office.
No matter what party you’re from, this is not a Republican, Democratic, or Independent issue it is an American issue only

What's all this I hear about lawyer lawsuits? Trump lawyer Sekulow may have misheard 'FOIA lawsuits' - An impeachment defense lawyer for President Donald Trump appeared incensed at the suggestion that Democrats didn't want to delay impeachment by pursuing “lawyer lawsuits” to obtain information.

Some were puzzled by the remarks on Tuesday by defense lawyer Jay Sekulow because the phrase “lawyer lawsuits” had not been mentioned, report the Washington Post and New York Magazine.
There was a reference to “FOIA lawsuits,” however, by U.S. Rep. Val Demings, D-Fla., when she explained why Democrats had not sought or awaited additional evidence in court.
Demings said the president’s lawyers may suggest that the House “should have sought these materials in court or awaited further lawsuits under the Freedom of Information Act, aka FOIA lawsuits. Any such suggestion is meritless. To start, the Constitution has never been understood to require such lawsuits. It’s never occurred in any previous impeachment.”
Demings added that “FOIA lawsuits filed by third parties cannot serve as a credible alternative to congressional oversight.”
Sekulow seized on the never-spoken phrase “lawyer lawsuits” in his response.
“Lawyer lawsuits? We’re talking about the impeachment of a president of the United States, duly elected, and the members, the managers, are complaining about lawyer lawsuits?” Sekulow said. “The Constitution allows lawyer lawsuits.”
Sekulow went on to argue that communications by presidential advisers preparing advice for the president are protected by the presidential communications privilege, as are communications received by the advisers. Sekulow then circled back to lawyer lawsuits.
“Lawsuits. The Constitution. A dangerous moment for America when an impeachment of a president of the United States is being rushed through because of lawyer lawsuits,” he said. “The Constitution allows it, if necessary. The Constitution demands it, if necessary.”

I Have found that Cross Country Skiing is Very similar to "Taking a Walk in the Woods" but You Can Travel TWICE AS FAR... Half The Time You are Going Down Hill and that Takes almost no effort... and you go a lot faster... and then going up hill is Just about the same as walking...

The Last Thing I Ever Did With My Mom and Dad was... Visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Mom was rolling around in her wheelchair and Dad was pushing her. I figured they were fine and I went off on my own to Tour by Myself... Including the Giant Kelp Forest and the Outdoor Balcony overlooking the water. I Ate Some Magic Mushrooms... I figured that No One Would Know that I Wasn't "Just Eating My Lunch..." - Anyway, Mom Got Surrounded by a Flock of Screaming Elementary School Children and That Caused Her to Become Upset. As a Matter of Fact, That was the Last Time She Ever Left Our House to Go Visit Anything... I Had a Great Time... It's an Incredibly Beautiful Museum.
On another Occasion, I Ate Mushrooms and Snuck into a New Car Show at the San Jose Convention Center on the Day before it Opened. I was Dressed in a "TECHIE" Uniform. White Shirt, Necktie, Ponytail and MADNESS IN MY EYES... Obviously, No One Challenged Me or asked What I was Doing There... On Mushrooms I Often "Channel My Inner Chewbacca..." and People Just Get Out of My Way... Sometimes It Bothers Me that I Frighten People... Like the Librarians at The San Jose Public Library... I Love Them and Absolutely Do Not Want to Do them any Harm...
