Greetings: Here are 20 simple ideas for making the world a better place. #1 Solar Powered Desalinization - Change Seawater into Drinking Water

1. We ought to build a giant solar power desalinization plant in Southern California. Convert Seawater into drinking water, salt and electricity.  It would use solar reflectors to boil seawater and create steam. That steam would be used to drive turbines and create electricity. When the water cools it condenses into pure H2O and salt. The water would be sold to people for drinking, washing, watering livestock and watering plants. The salt could be sold or returned to the ocean if there are not enough customers... Camp Pendleton near San Diego would be an ideal location. Southern California is in need of water. There is a current proposal to use pipelines to move fresh water from the Sacramento River to be used by farmers and residents in SoCal. An alternative would be to just get the water from the ocean... There is an engineering break thru using solar power to pump the water out of the ocean but using membranes to do the purification. That's the same technology that is used in those drinking water dispensers you see out front of Liquor Stores.

We should also stop watering lawns in California. It's a cultural norm that is not practical in a state that is suffering drought. What if it became fashionable to have rock gardens or cactus? That's what they do in Arizona...

2. Convert human fat into electricity using exercise bicycle power generators. The kinetic energy created by people pedaling can be converted into electricity by using an alternator, diode and battery. Many people use stationary bicycles for exercise and these currently unused sources of power could be used to create electricity. People could sell the electricity to the power company.

3. We ought to cut spending at the Department of Defense and use the money for valuable projects. Simply stop the wars in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Africa and all those secret locations. Bring the soldiers and the weapons home. We currently waste a vast fortune on wars that accomplish nothing. We could spend the trillions currently wasted on Medicare for all, infrastructure, teacher's salaries or school supplies. Remember that the US Military has not DEFENDED the USA since 1945. We have only invaded other countries... Often, our invasions cause disaster. For Example: When we helped Saddam Hussein become President and then blew up Iraq. Not a brilliant idea. Then we left stockpiles of weapons that were stolen by ISIS, Arming Terrorists. If we had just stayed home we could have saved six trillion dollars... The War in Afghanistan is impossible to win. Why not "Declare Victory", bring the troops home and have big parades?

4. We ought to legalize and tax marijuana nationwide. Release all cannabis prisoners. This would reduce government spending and increase VOLUNTARY taxes collected. The prisoners could spend their time working for a living and supporting their own families. That would reduce the costs of welfare and food stamps.

5. We ought to impeach Trump. He is taking the country in the wrong direction. His agenda is to cut taxes for the rich and reduce pollution control costs in corporations. He wants to increase drilling for oil, gas and coal mining. That causes more pollution. Burning fossil fuels causes global warming. Climate Change will make large parts of the USA uninhabitable. The Gulf Coast and the East Coast will have hurricanes every year. The destruction will become more than we are able to repair.

6. We ought to fund basic research into clean energy projects. Better electric cars, solar energy, wind energy and wave/tidal power plants. Better batteries... Better air conditioners... We are fighting for our lives. This should be funded like The Manhattan Project of World War Two or the Moon Landing.

Then President Nixon continued the War for another 5 years before eventually he decided to allow the South Vietnamese to fight their own war and we left. Quickly the South lost and thousands of Boat People fled South Vietnam because they thought they would be killed. As it turned out, The Domino Principle was false. Communism did not take over the world. The entire war was a waste of lives and money.

5. QAnon spews absolute nonsense. Nothing he has ever predicted has come true. He literally makes this stuff up as he goes along. He is nothing more than an incel gamer with nothing better to do than manipulate weak-minded people who are prone to believe in crazy conspiracy theories because they lack any critical thinking skills.

6. Climate change is real. NASA says it's real, and NASA is flying helicopters around Mars right now. NASA is smarter than you.

7. The pandemic was never a hoax. Nearly 600,000 Americans have lost their lives to COVID-19. You folks made this far worse than it needed to be with your ridiculous "You Tube" videos and your refusal to wear a mask in public. You are the reason it has taken so long for this country to recover. You played politics with a deadly virus and now you have blood on your hands. 

8. Immigrants aren't rapists and murders. The vast majority of these people simply want a better life for their families. They were willing to walk through a desert just to get a sliver of the American Dream. They are no threat to you or your family. They are far more frightened of you than you need to be of them.

I have a serious question from what I have experienced visually. Has Anyone ever closed their eyes and seen spinning mandalas? This has happened to me in a span of two years every now and the I could close my eyes and this mandala would appear after I closed my eyes and lay down. I'd sit there and just watch them spinning while I am highly entertained. I'd watch them for as long as I could.

I Replied! I see Magic Geometric Patterns in Orange and Black when I Close My Eyes... I Consider it a Blessing... But I Have Difficulty Gazing at Stars at Night Because I See Fantastic Patterns in the Sky... I only see the VERY Brightest Stars and Planets... I also Love to do Psychedelic Art on Potatoshop and I Seem to Get Visuals when I Look Away from the Computer...

What does Ram Dass say about people or what will happen to people who lie a lot?

I am related to a prolific liar; he believes all the lies he spins and the lies always reach more ears than the truth. It has previously caused a lot of emotional pain in my family. We have forgiven, forgiven and forgiven. Recently, it has all come to a head; I have walked away from this liar and let the people who believe his falsehoods go too. I have taken responsibility for my part. But this is the end and the pattern will now stop repeating. Myself and my little family are moving forward without the toxicity the lies have caused. We have spoken our truth.

I have meditated, chanted and prayed and the answer has come to me mainly through this group.

I am now happy because I know I have the strength within me to stop my part in the circle of lies and hatred.

I forgive them all, move on with love in my life and now know that the things that have hurt and frustrated me are attachment to people that have no love and respect.

That's their issue to deal with. They are working out their Karma. I've learned the lessons that I previously haven't and now I'm free.

Don't worry about what they're saying. Care about what you are thinking saying and doing. Tis' the truth and love that sets us free ❤

I remember anxiously awaiting the release date of certain albums by my favorite bands, and it was like a global collective experience because all of the fans all over the world were also waiting. And you got to hear the evolution of the band's music as you listen to their albums in order. And you'd go to the record store on the release date because you were so excited about the new album. Albums still have release dates, and I suppose fans still get excited about it, but it doesn't seem to have the same magic since most people are buying the album on their computer in their home by themselves, rather than at a busy record store full of excited fans of the band whose album you are there to buy, and often it will be playing in the store. I remember when I worked at Tower Records in 1989-1990, it was always busy and lively on the release date of a new album. One I remember clearly from when I worked there was the release of Bonnie Raitt "Nick of Time," and Queensryche "Empire." I also remember when "Vogue" by Madonna was released as a single. I rang up thousands of the cd's and cassette singles that day, and I still have mine.

An album should be consumed whole... 

Now we've got mp3s and mixed spotify-type playlists, splitting all the carefully designed song transitions, and removing the deep soul connection we used to be able to have with new music, as it was being told like a story of songs...

And you had to sit with one or 2 sets of new songs for weeks, maybe months, maybe years before you could afford another tape/cd... you got intimate with your music, and none of it was disposable...

Nowadays, though...

The trade-off i suppose is accessibility.  Almost anything can be found if you look deep enough... but also so much is lost because not all music in the world will be saved by digital restoration... 

People are able to choose from thousands of songs at any time... which is nice.  But we don't as often get put into the situation of getting really familiar with music, in a specific album order, because we had no choice but to wait for anything else... 

We appreciated the music more when we knew the CD or tape was our only source... 

Now we can download and delete music at a moments notice... convenient.... but doesn't make us focus enough to sit and appreciate like we used to... 

Some of us still choose to, of course...

SE REPLIED: Oh yeah, I loved all of the cool stuff inside of the album, especially the lyrics, but also the pictures and artwork and other stuff. It was even cooler with record albums. All of that is pretty much gone now. I mean, I guess it's virtual, but there was something about buying a physical album and holding it in your hands.

I SAID: Album Cover Artwork was a Major Part of The Culture... Remember Sgt. Pepper and Trying to Figure Out Who all those People were? and That was Created before Photoshop was invented... The Artist Took Prints of Photographs and an Exacto Knife and made a Collage... and Photographed That...
