A Friend Said: Hi Greg, Not sure if your local news covered a fire in downtown Weed. Apparently several old buildings on main street burned. Downtown was evacuated temporarily, but it was quite smokey. Got to be joke in there somewhere about Smoke in Weed.

I was buying gas in Weed, California... And I asked the guy working there if there was a good place to camp nearby... And he asked me: "What do you want? Like, a KOA with hookups or plain dirt camping?

And I responded: "I don't care! I'm a turtle!" Because I was driving around in my Ford Windstar Van with the mattress in the back... Just like a turtle, I carried my home on my back...

After I retired I drove 4,000 miles exploring the West... California, Nevada, Utah, Oregon and Washington State...

It gives me some insight into what's going on in Portland, Oregon... I've been there... And the thing I remember most was: I was trying to drive over the river to get to the State of Washington where marijuana was legal... and there was a huge traffic jam at the bridge going over the Columbia River... So when I finally made it to the weed store, I was still hyper and anxious... And I told the clerk that I really thought that the bridges over the Columbia Rivers sucked and traffic was a mess... And he said: "Oh yeah... We certainly know that... We live here!"

A little insight into the concept of Doom Scrolling... I find that the Faceborg algorithm delivers posts that always agree with my opinions... Zuckerberg has proved mathematically that people stay on Faceborg longer when they read messages that make it appear like the whole world agrees with me... The other thing I do with my computer is email my friends and family... We live far away from each other and it's really good to have daily contact with my brother... And to have a written record... I still have emails that my father sent me before he died and those are precious...

It creeps me out that twice this week I've been offered the opportunity to take a close-up picture of my face to accomplish a goal on the internet. I can tell that I made an obvious mistake back in the late 1990s by using my real name on the internet. Who knew that in 2025 the Secret Service would come around and interview me about things that I posted on Twitter... A friend of mine sells wrinkle remover cream for your face online and as part of the package you can scan your face and do a before and after comparison... Well I don't care about buying anti-aging wrinkle cream so I did not participate in this thing... The other wonderful opportunity is that instead of using a mouse to point and click on a website my Google Chromebook now has the ability to use my face to navigate... Well that seems like a total waste... And I wonder why do they want to know what I look like? Is facial recognition a new law enforcement tool? A way to find out if I'm a "enemy" of Donald Trump and a member of ANTIFA?

Many of the people that are talking about leaving California are MAGA Morons... Just think about how much better California would be if all those gun nuts would just GTFO?

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that Republican politicians would rather protect Velveeta Voldermort than get justice for Epstein's victims! Most of these people have daughters, granddaughters, nieces. How can they be more concerned about protecting a criminal than they are about protecting vulnerable young girls from predators? It's absolutely mind-boggling! If these people have nothing to hide, release the files and let the world know who's on that list so they can be publicly shamed. That's what they deserve, right? The whole country should be united on this. This shouldn't be a partisan issue. We have sunk really low to have come to this point. This is a no-brainer. Victims of convicted sex traffickers or a convicted felon who has no business being the president. Are people seriously rooting for the second one? Do they think these women are lying, making the whole thing up? What would they have to gain by doing that?
And where are the women? I don't expect much from Melania at this point, although traditionally a First Lady would be leading the country in rooting for the victims to get justice in a situation like this. It's hard to believe Marjorie Taylor Greene is showing more compassion for the victims than the actual First Lady! But where is JD Vance's wife? Surely she feels compassion for the victims? How could any woman listen to their stories and NOT feel compassion? What about Ivanka? She's nowhere to be found these days, but surely she has compassion for the victims?
I can't believe we've sunk so low as a country that this is even being debated. You simply don't take the side of the sex traffickers in a situation like this. I don't care who you are or what party you belong to or what country you live in, you don't side with sex traffickers. Release the files, the UNALTERED files, and let's help the victims get justice.
