Here's an event that happened while I was living in San Jose... I was on the city bus and two teenage Hispanic men started tagging the inside of the bus... They had cans of spray paint and they were spraying their gang insignia... Well, spray paint has a poisonous odor... And so at the very next bus stop about half the people got off... Including a teenage Hispanic woman with a baby... Things like that just don't happen in Eureka & Arcada... Because we just don't have Hispanic people... I've heard it said that multiculturalism is wonderful but that is not been my experience...
I can certainly relate to why people want to leave Mexico and come to the USA. I have actually been to Mexico. I went there in 1975 and was horrified by The Starving Children selling Chiclets... In April 2018, Attorney General Sessions announced a “zero tolerance” policy under which the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will refer all migrants who enter the U.S. without authorization to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for criminal prosecution. This policy expands “Operation Streamline,” a program which began in 2005.
As a result of the zero tolerance policy, the government separated more than 2000 children from their parents at the border during the period of mid-April to June. Since children cannot be held in criminal detention, the children are designated as “unaccompanied alien children” and placed in the custody of the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). ORR places the children in shelters until they are released to a family member, guardian, or foster family.

There are plenty of people in the Trump administration who are deplorable, but Stephen Miller belongs in a category of his own. Others are corrupt, incompetent, or chasing fame. Miller is driven by an ideology so extreme that cruelty becomes it's own reward. He is not a hanger-on or a background aide. He is the engine. While Trump rants and gestures, Miller ensures that hatred is converted into binding federal policy. If Trump provides the chaos, Miller provides the direction.
Miller's history makes it impossible to pretend any of this is accidental. Long before the White House, he built a career on resentment politics and a fixation on immigration. Inside the administration, first hand accounts consistently point to Miller as the central driver behind the Muslim bans, family separation, mass detention, and the systematic dismantling of asylum protection. He pushes agencies to go further, faster, and harsher...even after being warned policies were unlawful, even after being told children would suffer lasting trauma. This isn't a failure of governance. It's governance by punishment. The suffering is intentional, because fear is the product.
What makes Stephen Miller especially dangerous is that immigrants were never the end goal...they are the test case. Under his influence, the government normalizes raids, indefinite detention, and the idea that constitutional rights are conditional. Communities are terrorized, due process is hallowed out, and state violence is treated as a political tool. Miller does not merely reflect Trumpism, he makes it into something colder, more disciplined, and more enduring than Trump himself.
If there is any justice left in the world, history will not treat Stephen Miller as a "controversial adviser" or a footnote to Trump's excesses. He will be named for what he is, a central architect of policies that inflicted widespread, deliberate harm on civilian population. And if accountability ever means more than words, then Stephen Miller...along with others who enabled and enforced this cruelty, will face judgment for crimes against humanity. Anything less confirms the most dangerous lesson of all...that power can brutalize the innocent and walk away untouched.

These are the same people who spent YEARS screaming from the rooftops: "Businesses have RIGHTS! They shouldn't be FORCED to bake cakes or design websites for people whose lifestyles offend their delicate sensibilities! First Amendment! Religious freedom! SCOTUS said so in 303 Creative! WOOHOO!"
They popped champagne when the Supreme Court basically gave a golden high-five to any creative business owner who wanted to say, "Sorry, my deeply held beliefs mean I can't serve you." They called it liberty. They called it winning. They called anyone who disagreed a communist tyrant.
Fast-forward to 2026: ICE agents are rolling through Minneapolis like it's a Call of Duty map: smashing car windows, detaining folks, tragic shootings (RIP Renee Good and others caught in the crossfire), schools locking down, businesses bleeding customers because nobody wants to shop next to masked feds with guns.
And now? Local spots are like, "Nah, bro. No warrant? No latte. No judicial signature? No craft IPA. Private property, baby, your rules, remember?"
And suddenly the same crowd that cheered "let bakers be bakers" is clutching their pearls: "This is DISCRIMINATION! Boycott these woke fascists! How DARE they refuse service to hardworking law enforcement!" Ted Nugent's out here funding DoorDash for ICE like it's a GoFundMe for persecuted heroes. Influencers are filming themselves getting turned away at Hilton desks, crying into their phones about "the rule of law" while conveniently forgetting they spent half a decade arguing the exact opposite.
Bro.
You literally sued for the constitutional right to tell certain people "no thanks" based on your beliefs. You won! You got the green light from the highest court in the land! And now that the shoe is on the other foot...except this time it's not about who someone loves, it's about who someone works for...you're losing your minds? You're melting down harder than a snowman in a sauna?
This is peak 2026 energy. You asked for businesses to have the freedom to discriminate on principle. You got it. Now businesses are using that freedom to say, "Principle: We don't vibe with masked dudes raiding our neighborhoods and shooting unarmed locals. Door's that way." And you're mad? Cry me a river of Freedom Fries, my dudes.
You can't have it both ways. Either private businesses get to say "no" when it offends their conscience... or they don't. Pick a lane. Because right now, the only thing melting faster than your outrage is your credibility.
