Event That Happened in Folsom, California...

Side note after I was attacked I did pull my stun gun out of my bike bag and never threatened but warned that if myself or Shay took another hit or attack I would use it. We were accused after fact of just threatening with it. Truth be told I have never stunned anyone and was not even capable of doing it to our attackers. Just want to make sure all facts are covered.
So saddened, frustrated and enraged with the events that transpired for us today.
As we were bicycling in Folsom we encountered a group of Trump supporters on the corner of Greenback/Folsom-Auburn. As we near the intersection, walking with our bikes on the sidewalk, it’s apparent they were ready for confrontation as they blocked the sidewalk in front of us and any access to the cross walk buttons. As we approach we ask them to move and we are told we can ask nicer. We asked them to move again and it’s game on for them. They surround us and proceed to scream “triggered” at us, tell us we are voting for a pedophile, that we are pedophile supporters, pedophiles ourselves, that we are what’s wrong with America and that we need to go the f*** home. They start waving their flags in our faces and continuing to approach us as we are waiting for the light to change (while also keeping eyes on those that are continuing to verbally assault us). One man in particular steps extra close to us and Brandy tells him to not come close to us like that. He continues to invade our space, using his flag as a weapon, holding it in both his hands and shoving her in the chest with it and then connecting with her face. As things escalate and we try to get the flag away from him to prevent further attack, we are rushed by others that are screaming in our faces. While Brandy is dealing with 1/2 the group screaming and trying to come at her with the flag again, I have the other 1/2 screaming at me. A man 6 inches taller than me and much bigger in stature than I am comes from the side saying how he is going to knock us both out. He continues his threats and in the process begins kicking my bike, pushing me into Brandy and forcing us to get off our bikes fully as we are being pushed closer and closer to the intersection. He kicked mine again and now both of our bikes are down and we are surrounded. I turn to tell people to back off when a woman comes at me, hitting me in the stomach repeatedly with the end of her flag, screaming how we are what’s wrong with this country, how we need Jesus and not homosexuality, how we are wrong for not voting trump and then for not voting at all. We were called every name in the book by the group and the man that was kicking my bike is telling me that I was a fat f***ing cow and that we are gonna die! I’m in utter shock and processing what’s happening as Brandy somehow gets us across the intersection and is already on the phone with police. As we are waiting for the light to change at the new intersection an elderly couple on bikes wave and say “good job” to the trump supporters. I think Brandy and I looked at each other like we were in some alternate universe and clarify she is ok with them being violent towards females on a bike ride? She and her husband state we got what we deserved. Husband then looks at Brandy and says she better be careful in a threatening manner. As we are preparing for another attack from him, 2 more supporters come over while one from across the street is now on the same corner as us and recording everything saying how we are in the wrong. We end up biking as fast as we can by more supporters just wanting to get away as the one recording continues following us. We finally get away and are waiting for the police to arrive when the older couple that said we got what we deserve ride by laughing and telling us good luck. We are just staring at each other in total shock. The police arrive and ask us what happened. We relay everything and they said pretty much there is nothing they can do since we didn’t have it recorded. Brandy told them to go check the supporters phone recordings as many told us during the altercation how we were being recorded. They want to see if the individuals that physically made contact with us are still there, so I leave my bike with Brandy and go with the officer to ID the three individuals. He proceeds to tell me how if we press charges that the DA will most likely not follow through on any of this as it’s not a more severe situation. I tell him it’s sad right that this sort of thing can happen and it’s just not a big deal. He takes me back to Brandy and again says this most likely will not be pursued if we press charges. So we said what’s the point in pressing charges then. He said he is going to review the traffic camera footage still and we should hear something...at some point. We don’t know when. Frankly we knew that’s what was going to happen. We don’t care.
What we do care about is how people think it’s ok to continue to go around and threaten bodily harm on fellow human beings, physically assault them, cause emotional distress, threaten abuse and death towards us. Over what? Us not being like them. They knew nothing about us but sure had us pegged before any words were ever exchanged. We are still in shock over it all.
Our gender doesn’t matter. Neither does our sexuality, the way we look, or our political stance. No human should EVER cross lines like those people did to us today over ANYTHING, ESPECIALLY when it comes to politics and personal beliefs. We each have our right to our own opinion. To each their own. But when it goes from an opinion to whatever THIS shit show was today, it is totally unacceptable. WE are not what’s wrong with this world. It’s people like that that are what’s wrong with this world.

We went by them and they were none threatening . Most were sitting, a few bikes passed they didn’t even look. The local groups are usually calm. Biden and Trumps.
I am sorry you went through this no one should! Pretty darn sad when someone is riding by and gets attacked for no reason. Didn’t say a word or jesters. Not right!
