Oil and gas companies are spending millions of dollars on campaigns to fight climate regulations at the same time as touting their dedication to a low-carbon future, according to a joint analysis by the Guardian and InfluenceMap.

Their global PR campaigns on social media promote a commitment to a green, low-carbon future, but across the US in particular, specific local campaigns are obstructing tighter regulations on fossil fuel extraction.

In many cases, oil and gas companies are using direct advertising but some targeted lobbying appears to be more opaque. It is channelled through so called “community” groups – which are being funded by fossil fuel companies.

The first thing I did when I retired was DRIVE 4,000 miles and toured Washington State, Oregon, California, Nevada and Utah. Maybe that wasn't the best Idea... Sorry...

The MAIN reason people drive is Commuting to work. Next time you change jobs, consider distance to the office as a MAJOR FACTOR. If you drive an Hour to work, that changes an eight hour day to a ten hour day... and those two hours are a TOTAL WASTE OF YOUR LIFE. I know, I did it for DECADES.

We should TRY to prevent Climate Change no matter what the cause is. Deniers often focus on the wrong question.

If we stop polluting the air, IT MIGHT STOP GLOBAL WARMING...
If we take no action, we are guaranteed to fail. 

Climate Change Deniers often switch the discussion to what he cause is... man made or natural... but that does not really matter... That's just a "Red Herring" to distract attention to the real question. "What should we do?"

Climate Change Deniers are often paid by the Fossil Fuel Industry to write articles that recommend we continue burning oil, gas and coal... Protecting Profits.
