To my friends in other countries: this is how the majority of Americans feel. We are ashamed and embarrassed that enough of our own citizens voted for this person to get him elected, and now he represents us on the world stage. This is not who we are, or at least, it's not who we ever were in the past. It's certainly not who I am. This man does not represent my views at all. I just wish we could do something to stop him and get back to having a decent, respectable person representing our country. Many of us feel totally helpless.

Related to my last post: every president in my lifetime, other than the current one, has been a decent human being. I definitely did not always agree with their policies, but there was never any doubt that they were good people who loved this country and wanted to make life better for the American people. I still have a difficult time processing what the hell happened to make so many Americans vote for someone like Trump? A man who has never once even indicated that he wants to make life better for anyone other than himself and his billionaire supporters. He does not respect our system of government, and he does not support our allies. He has never done a single kind, empathetic, or generous thing to help others. How did we get here? Why are so many people okay with this? Why are so many people just silently allowing this person to dismantle our government and ruin our relationships with our allies around the world? Why aren't ALL of us, Democrats AND Republicans, banding together to get this person out of the White House and replaced with a decent human being who actually respects our Constitution, like all previous presidents did? I know the right-wingers on my page will never, EVER explain it to me, even though I've asked over and over again and promised that I will be polite and respectful. I can already hear the crickets chirping even as I write this, because they're never, ever willing to talk about what motivates them to want to completely destroy everything this country stands for and destroy our relationships with other world leaders. It's just so heartbreaking what's happening. I never thought our country would stoop so low. I'm not even really entirely blaming Trump, because he never hid his intentions. Project 2025 was right there on the internet for all the world to see. We had the power to stop it, and many of us did our best, but others WANTED this. That's the part I wish someone on the right would explain to me in a respectful way, as a fellow American. Explain to me how having someone like Trump is better than having a decent, respectful, patriotic American representing our country. Again, I'm not talking Democrats vs Republicans here. We're all supposed to love this country and respect the Constitution, no matter which party we belong to. I'd be fine with a Republican president who respects the Constitution and supports our allies and actually works toward making life BETTER for the American people. Because up until the current occupant of the White House, hasn't that always been the goal of EVERY president, Democrat or Republican? Each president's goal is to make life BETTER for the American people. They may have different ways of achieving that goal, but that has always been the goal. This is the first president we've ever had who seems bound and determined to make every aspect of American life WORSE, not better. Why is this okay? The crickets are getting louder...but if anyone would care to explain, I sure would love to know the answer. And I'm hoping for something a little more detailed than "he hates the people they hate." There has GOT to be a better reason why so many people are willing to have our American way of life completely destroyed along with our relationships with our allies.

Since I am older than you... I have experienced presidents that were astonishingly evil quite often! Lyndon Johnson was Evil...Richard Nixon was Evil... Ronald Reagan was Evil... George Bush the son was incredibly stupid and Evil... And he surrounded himself with the slaves of Satan... Rumsfield, Cheney, Rice and Powell...

You think all of those former presidents were no different than Trump? All of the presidents you named were in my lifetime except LBJ. The only one I don't have a clear memory of is Nixon, because I was only 5 when he resigned. I did not care much for Reagan and Bush (both Bushes, actually), and I disagreed with many of their policies, but they didn't run around acting disrespectful and cruel like Trump. They showed empathy when empathy was required, like when the Challenger blew up during Reagan's term, and when 9/11 happened during Bush's term. They came on TV and spoke to the American people and reassured us that we are strong and we would get through it. You never, EVER hear words like that from Trump. Like I mentioned in an earlier comment, he got offended when a reporter asked him if he was going to visit the crash site of one of the recent plane crashes. Reagan and Bush would have visited the crash site because that's what a president does after there has been a tragedy. I'm sorry, but Reagan and Bush are not even CLOSE to the level of evil as Trump. I do think Nixon is the only former president who comes close...but even Nixon had the decency to resign. Also, the Cold War was still going on during Reagan's presidency, and there is NO WAY Reagan would have sided with Russia for any reason. If Russia had invaded one of our ally countries during Reagan's presidency, do you think Reagan would have disrespected our ally the way Trump is currently disrespecting Ukraine? It was APPALLING the way he treated Zelenskyy yesterday. I'm 100% certain that Reagan would have never done that, and Reagan would have never taken Russia's side in a situation like this. Our relationships with our allies were strong up until Trump came along and ruined everything.

At the rate we're going, we will be a shell of our former glory by the time his 4 years are up, and we will have NO allies around the world. It's not too late to stop it, but we need Republicans to admit that it needs to be stopped. But they won't admit it. They won't even DISCUSS it.

I really admire people with principles... but I’ve grown to understand that “Democracy” technically means majority rules. Technically no one’s opinion is invalid no matter how stupid you think they are. Without discounting any one individual, what does the true majority actually want? Americans lost this concept... 😞 Americans think certain people are smarter and deserve more power than others.

All Americans are going to have to be confronted by November, with the reality we’ve all been avoiding:

You have one guy who purposely allowed more people to die in the pandemic, because he thought it would help his chances in the election. Biden’s true base supporters are oldddd, he gets like 90% of the 80+ crowd and 60% of the 60+ crowd. If a bunch of old people die, Trump wins. Trust me he’s well aware of this. In addition to that, Trump 2.0 will no longer need a strong approval rating. He gets 4 more years no matter what. Can’t put him on trial for anything until he’s out of office. He knows that Putin finances the Talaban to kill our soldiers. He had very specific instructions of what to do when only 5 Americans had the virus. He knows very well what he’s doing. He slides because liberal people think he’s “dumb” he’s not dumb. He’s been working with the KGB since the 80’s, look it up and research I dare you. People are scared to even look it up, it’s pathetic, they think he’ll find out... they want to be on his good side.

Then you have your other guy... Let’s face it, America has been a dual party system for a long long time. Y’all picked a fine time to hedge your money on Green... and I like green. But let’s not get carried away I want to talk about the uncomfortable reality of the “other guy” Biden. He has a terrible congressional record as far as being on the right side of history with his senate votes (trump never served a day in congress, nor any state government or even as a mayor in his life, and he illegally covers up his taxes to hide transactions with the Russians in his douche bank). Biden’s son got paid way too much money in Ukraine for a job he was under qualified for. (Trump’s son in law is a Zionist new world order overlord). Biden got a lot of help from the DNC, Hillary, Bloomberg, Buttigieg, Klobacher, Warren, Obama & even Tulsi... until the odds got so steep, amidst a pandemic, that Bernie had to concede, to what some might call an illegitimate and unDemocratic primary. (Trump is highly favored by the Russian government whom pays trolls to purposely upset people on the internet in such a way where they get scared and desire Trump’s style of authoritarianism to protect them). Now this part is gross, so bare with me... Biden allegedly fingered his assistant, against her will, but my understanding is that the power of him being a US Senator caused her to freeze up in the moment, which deeply traumatized the woman, whom is now speaking out. (Trump tag team raped a woman with Jeffry Epstein... on an island known for its child trafficking ring, Trump has at least a dozen alleged rape allegations, all silenced with money and threats).

So unless we can get a sudden paradigm shift for a Howie Hawkins led Green Party to overwhelm the polls... it’s looking like it’s either gonna be Biden whom ought to have been disqualified but in all fairness appears to be having a born again progressive epiphany as of late...

Or we get Trump whom will purposely divide and conquer Democracy as a gift to Putin, whom will likely eventually invade and enslave us. 🤷‍♂️ Choices choices. No one said life was going to be easy.

OK Boomer is funny to me. After years of listening to boomers complain about how overly sensitive and whiny millennials are, some of the boomers are literally saying it’s the N-word of ageism. And it’s ironic because that’s exactly what the “greatest” generation did to the boomers.  Look up Chicago democratic convention riot. Basically the strategy is ignore activists until they become disillusioned and stop caring, then listen to them.

I mean, I could turn around and remind the younger generations that they have an abysmal voting record compared to older generations. But maybe, instead, we could work together - you know, actually accomplish good things.

I Was born a flower child, have fought the power all my life and I will fight them til we win or I die. It’s really inspiring to see the millennials and Zoomers. You guys really inspire us too. The emergency supplies were brought in by FEMA in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, which smashed the island and left its residents without power, without roofs and without running water.
Federal officials commandeered the area in the far east of the island last fall as a staging ground, collecting the water and containers full of tarps to patch damaged and destroyed roofs in surrounding neighborhoods.
And there the supplies sat. And sat. Storm survivors were collecting spring water from the mountains for cooking and bathing, even with the threat of disease that brought.
