I have faith that the Earth will continue to spin and to orbit the Sun. I have faith in gravity, magnetism, the electromagnetic spectrum, and love.

I believe that ALL religious dogma consists of certainty about things one can never be certain about — for example, the existence of a Supreme Being, or the existence of that infinite, eternal Being's gender and special interest in one subgroup of one species on one planet of one galaxy in one galactic cluster.

I believe that no one person or group of human beings is intrinsically superior to any other, even in their beliefs or moral code. If you can breed with someone and produce fertile offspring, you're the same species. And most people use their religious beliefs to justify unjustifiable breaches of moral code — like treating people who love each other as subhuman if that's what their prophet demands.

I believe that religion and morality are two completely different things. You can be religious and immoral, as televangelists and clerical pedophiles demonstrate. You can be moral without subscribing to a religion, as many of my Facebook friends demonstrate daily.

I have faith that assholes will spend their lives attempting to subject me to THEIR religious beliefs and moral standards, and then vilify me when I refuse....
