I lived near Washington DC for 12 years but I always felt that I was just visiting... I felt like a Stranger in a Strange Land... I had some fun times and toured New York City, Boston, Canada... all the way down to Key West... But the people that live there were strange... I spent about 5 years living in Chico... With the Chico Freakos... And that's another one of those places that is isolated and our own little world... We See on TV News that there are places outside of our community where the people are behaving crazy and suffering... So we just change the channel... Those people far away ought to get it together... Or maybe not... Doesn't have much effect on our life... 

One of the great things about Chico is it's in the California Central Valley and so everything is flat... So it's perfect for riding a bicycle... So all those expenses about automobiles just don't happen... If you own a car you got to make a car payment... You got to buy car insurance... You got to buy gasoline... You have to pay to park... It's just a horrible mess... But I lived in Chico for 5 years and never once owned a car... I had a girlfriend that owned a car... And sometimes she would drive around and take me... And having a car was really great when you wanted to go up to Mount Lassen... Or Paradise...

There's about 90,000 people that live in Butte County... And Chico's the main city... In the center of town is Chico State College which I attended for two years before flunking out... And a lot of people are brought to Chico by the school and then never leave... Surrounding the college town is a lot of farmland... And a lot of the people that live out there are Hispanic... So when I joined Alcoholics Anonymous... We had a lot of White People that were former Chico State College Students... And a lot of Farm Workers... And also a lot of American Indians... So we all got together and had a lot of fun!

I'm always reminded that Mad King Donald hates a lot of people... I wonder what happened to him that caused so much hatred? Growing up in Queens, did the Black Boys beat him up and take his lunch money? Is that why his dad sent him to military school???

Bidwell Mansion in Chico, CA Burned Completely - Sad to see her go...

Chico State is saddened by the news that Bidwell Mansion, the historic building adjacent to our campus, was destroyed in an overnight fire. The state historic park was the home of John and Annie Bidwell and has been significant to Chico State since our founding.

Beyond serving as a beautiful landmark and gateway to the northeastern side of campus, Bidwell Mansion played a key role in the University’s history. It was owned for a period by the Normal School and served as a dormitory for Chico State Teachers College students. Later known as “Bidwell Hall,” it held classrooms and offices for several years. Its loss is deeply felt by all of us, and we join the Chico community in mourning the loss of this historic home.

Miracle or coincidence? I went into Annie Bidwell's Church on 1st Street, Chico, and asked God for a job for my friends V. and M. I wrote my prayer on a dollar bill and put it in the envelope for the poor... And within one week both of them had jobs... No one knows if God exists or not but... This happened.

I was reminded of this event by the newspaper article stating that the Bidwell Mansion in Chico has burned to the ground... I went there as a tourist to see the historical exhibits... And I'm really glad that I did when it was still possible.

Stop and search laws were considered unlegal after implementing due to the overzealous actions of police.

Since this will always occur with military style police departments, it will prove to be ineffective continually unless other legislation is used to describe when and where to use stop and search techniques. You think since we have an all Democratic Congress right now that this would be possible but in fact most elected officials are so incompetent they can’t see through their own fucking glasses to get things done correctly. Actually writing legislature such that in very high crime cities are high crime parts of cities within certain boundaries, stop and search techniques are allowed, and only for the purpose of capturing weapons. Violators are not arrested their weapons are just taken away and they are put on a list that says who they are and what was taken from them. If they get caught a week later with another weapon then you can deal with them legally. But the law can’t just give police carte blanche to stop and search any car anytime anywhere if it’s not in one of the exceptionally high weapon crime areas.

Additional legislation would also be required to stop people with mental problems, histories, and could be even taking a step further that before you become a gun owner, you have to have a psychological profile done. Of course all these open up more and more lawsuits and so it would have to be vetted properly and conducted properly and taking into account the persons history, social media etc.

it also help if there was a database that showed what people were considered irresponsible, racist, volatile and these people are not allowed to have a gun. They would say it’s a violation of their constitutional rights but in fact, if Congress looked at the constitution correctly, they would understand that the purpose of the second amendment was to provide for a quick militia to be available if necessary. It wasn’t intended to let mentally ill criminals or violent people have a gun so they can use it inappropriately. Making that distinction of intent from the constitution is an important part of providing new laws that serve the times that we’re in. But the problem again is that our Congress is too ignorant to actually decipher these realities and propose and pass adequate legislature that takes into account the intent of the militia, which really no longer applies in 2021, and defers gun ownership to people who it is inappropriate for them to have.

But on March 21, U.S. Senator Frank Moss, a Democrat representing Utah, released a Pentagon document that proved otherwise: On March 13, the day before Sherriff Gilette came across the macabre scene, a high-speed jet had sprayed 320 gallons of nerve gas VX across the Dugway grounds in a weapons test. The odorless, tasteless chemical is so deadly that less than 10 milligrams is enough to kill a human by asphyxiation, via paralysis of the respiratory muscles.

Although the Army never released a full, detailed report, they paid $376,685 to rancher Alvin Hatch, whose sheep accounted for 90 percent of those afflicted. The military also lent bulldozers for the mass burial of the dead sheep, and initiated a review of the safety protocol at Dugway.

Over that same period, the military dumped hundreds of thousands of tons of old chemical weapons directly into the ocean, without bothering to keep records of precisely where or how many weapons were disposed of. The military also discovered multiple instances of chemicals leaking out of their containers, including 21,000 leaky bomb clusters discovered in the Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Denver.

In March 1968, 6,249 sheep died in Skull Valley, an area nearly thirty miles from Dugway's testing sites. When examined, the sheep were found to have been poisoned by an organophosphate chemical. The sickening of the sheep, known as the Dugway sheep incident, coincided with several open-air tests of the nerve agent VX at Dugway. Local attention focused on the Army, which initially denied that VX had caused the deaths, instead blaming the local use of organophosphate pesticides on crops. Necropsies conducted on the dead sheep later definitively identified the presence of VX. The Army never admitted liability, but did pay the ranchers for their losses. On the official record, the claim was for 4,372 "disabled" sheep, of which about 2,150 were either killed outright by the VX exposure or were so critically injured that they needed to be euthanized on-site by veterinarians. Another 1,877 sheep were "temporarily" injured, or showed no signs of injury but ultimately were not marketable due to their potential exposure. All of the exposed sheep that survived the initial exposure were eventually euthanized by the ranchers, since even the potential for exposure had rendered the sheep permanently unsalable for either meat or wool.

The incident, coinciding with the birth of the environmental movement and anti-Vietnam War protests, created an uproar in Utah and the international community.^[17] The incident also starkly underscored the inherent unpredictability of air-dispersal of chemical warfare agents, as well as the extreme lethality of next-generation persistent nerve agents at even extremely low concentrations.

SE Posted of Facebook: At an apartment where I lived briefly before this one, I had several nicknames for my neighbors. The building had paper-thin walls, so you could hear everything. There was "the crazy lady," because she walked around the courtyard talking to herself and sometimes looking up and talking loudly to God. Above me was "the mad cougher," because he would randomly cough loudly, and since the walls were paper-thin, it sounded like he was coughing right in the room with me. There was also "the sweeping lady," because she would get out her broom and sweep the staircase wearing high heels. She slowly made her way down the stairs, sweeping each one along the way, then she did the same thing on the way back up. 

At my current apartment, I have had ongoing issues with noise from the apartment below me. (Paper-thin walls again - bleh.) There is a man who doesn't live there full time, but when he visits the apartment below me, it sounds like his voice is being amplified into my apartment through a club sound system. I refer to him as "Sir Booming Voice."

I Replied: I live in a Six Person Group Home for the Elderly... and One Lady always complains about the Food at every Meal... and She says She wants to get out of Here... "I Hate it, Hate It, Hate It Living Here." However, When her Daughter Visits she ALWAYS FORGETS about how much she Hates Living Here... Her Daughter Pays the Rent and COULD TAKE ACTION to Move Her to a Different Place... Or Move Her to Live at her Daughters House... SO... She is the Endless Complainer... I Guess that the Joy of Seeing her Daughter Erases all memory of How Much She Hates Living Here...

I Said: I Accidentally slipped into the Tuolumne river upstream from a Giant Waterfall at Hetch Hetchy while High on LSD, Marijuana and Peyote... The Current Was Vastly Stronger than I was and I was swept to the bottom of the pool... then I Accepted Death... Relaxed and Somehow Bubbled Up to a Place I could Crawl out of the Water... Every Day since then Has Been a GIFT. That Day We Climbed up a Granite Chimney... Never Before or Since Have I Been Able to Do That Feat of Freeclimbing... I Had a LOT of Energy and Lack of Fear due to The LSD...

In Retrospect...  I'm Extremely Lucky to Have Taken Two LSD Trips in Yosemite... and I Survived, So... It's all Good!

One of Yosemite's oldest historic trails (built 1873 to 1877), the Yosemite Falls Trail leads to the top of North America’s tallest waterfall, which rises 2,425 feet (739 m) above the Valley floor. This trail starts near Camp 4, along the Valley Loop Trail, and immediately begins its climb, switchback after switchback, through oak woodland. You will begin to climb above some trees and into exposed plateaus that offer you a glimpse of what's to come: great views of Yosemite Valley and its many iconic landforms. Do not stray off of the maintained path, as you will find steep drops adjacent to the trail.

Hidden in Yosemite National Park’s peaceful northwest corner, Hetch Hetchy Valley is a treasure worth visiting in all seasons. Located at 3,900 feet, Hetch Hetchy boasts one of the longest hiking seasons in the park and is an ideal place for thundering spring waterfalls and wildflower displays. High temperatures prevail in summer months, but that is a small price to pay for the reward of vast wilderness filled with stunning peaks, hidden canyons, and remote lakes.

Hetch Hetchy is on the main stem of the Tuolumne River and is part of the Tuolumne watershed. The Tuolumne River originates in the peaks above Tuolumne Meadows and is the major drainage system for the northern part of Yosemite. The Tuolumne River continues through Tuolumne Meadows and the associated park developments at an elevation of 8,600 feet. It then cascades on its westward descent through the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne, and enters the eastern end of Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. Hetch Hetchy is dammed by the 430-foot-tall O’Shaughnessy Dam and has a storage capacity of 360,360 acre-feet. It is the primary water source for about 2.5 million residents of the San Francisco Bay Area.
