There are a few high-profile atheists out there (I’m not naming names, but one name in particular rhymes with Mill Baher) who really make the rest of us sound pretty arrogant.

As far back as I can remember, I’ve never believed in a supreme being. It just didn’t make sense to me. Where does he live? Does he eat, sleep and poo? Who delivers his mail? But unlike the aforementioned HBO star, I have never and WOULD never mock those who believe.

When I was a kid growing up in California, our closest friends were a Catholic family up the street. They would often invite me to go to their Sunday services with them. I went along just to be in their company. Their daughter, Susie and I were inseparable. But it never affected my views one way or the other, nor did they ever try to “convert” me. The priest on the other hand, was another matter.

[SIDEBAR] I remember once when I was about 7 years old, he was at the church doorway greeting people. When he saw me, he said “Aren’t you the Lindner boy?” Yep. “You’re welcome to worship with us, but I wonder if your parents ever told you that it was the Jewish people who crucified the savior.”

I was SEVEN! And he was pinning Jesus’ death on me! I digress.

Mr. Baher can’t go ten minutes without ridiculing Christians. His mother was Jewish, his father Catholic, and he was raised in the church. I don’t know what his beef is, but he refuses to accept that not EVERY Christian is cast in the same mold as the ones he rails about. Yes, the evangelical movement is a negative blight on our national politics. But not EVERY evangelical follows the teachings of Franklin Graham.

Being an atheist doesn’t mean you have to oppose people of faith strictly on their beliefs alone. That’s insane. I’d much prefer having a Christian friend who actually abides by the teachings of Christ; Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter for instance, than an atheist like Baher, who paints religious people with the broadest, darkest brushes.

That’s the thing the no-longer-funny-comedian doesn’t get. It’s as if he’s out to prove to the world that his views are the ONLY acceptable views—and if you disagree, you’re his intellectual inferior.

In their minds, it's easy for a covert "deep state" crew of people to run around behind the scenes propping things up in front of TV cameras to make deepfakes everywhere, and then producing papers that pop up just in time to have a judge see them and rule on them, and then they all disappear like the Mission: Impossible tape-recorder so there's no evidence they were ever there. The CIA and the FBI are able to fake all these crimes they're accusing Trump of, and Tucker proved that the crowd at the picnic on January 6th was largely peaceful and the cops let everyone in and asked them if they'd like anything, water, snacks, the nameplate off Nancy's door, etc.,

No other federal court in the nation would allow a defendant in a case before them to fly a judge on a private Gulfstream luxury jet to a luxury hunting retreat in Louisiana and then, a week later, watch that judge rule in that defendant's favor.
But Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia did exactly that when Dick Cheney was sued for allegedly lying about his secret "energy group" that was planning the seizure and sale of Iraq's oil fields as he and Bush lied us into the war that opened those oil fields up to exploitation.
No other federal court would allow a judge to give a speech before a group that was funding a case before them and then rule in favor of that group's openly stated goal.
But that's exactly what Neal Gorsuch did when he addressed the Fund for American Studies, itself funded by the Bradley Foundation that was helping fund the Janus v AFSCME case that gutted union protections for government workers.
No other federal court would allow a judge to swear revenge against a particular nonprofit corporation (in this case the Democratic Party), saying in his confirmation hearings that, "What goes around comes around," and then rule in cases directly affecting that organization (like voting rights).
But Brett "Beerbong" Kavanaugh did just that.
No other federal court would allow a judge to rule on a case where he owned a half-million dollars worth of stock in the company presenting amicus arguments before the court.
But John Roberts did just that in the ABC v Aereo case. As did Roberts, Bryer and Alito in 25 of 37 other cases where they owned stock.
No other federal court would allow a judge's wife to openly interact with and advocate for the interests of dozens of litigants before the court over decades, and take nearly a million dollars from a group regularly helping bring cases before his court.
But Clarence Thomas and his wife have done both.
