A big shout out to the people in Vermont where JD Vance arrived yesterday after his shameful and embarrasing appearance at the Oval Office attacking Zelenskyy.
He was met with a protest from hundreds of people and then harassed at the ski resort he had reservations to go with his family. Vermont people has been rentlessly protesting and showing their undivided support to Ukraine. They couldn’t even ski and JD and his family had to leave to an undisclosed location. Many more planning on continuing to protest until he leaves. Many videos and Sources on Bluesky and Threads. 
One thing we discussed last night at my first event, was developing a positive feedback loop for Senate Republicans who push back on Trump. I can’t tell you the number of times I have posted when Senate Republicans like Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, or Mitch McConnell stand up to him, and instead of wanting to thank them, we look down at them and roll our eyes and say degrading things about them.
When they stand up to Trump, they are standing up for democracy, and we need to thank them. They do it at personal cost, because when they do something against his will, the MAGA base comes for them, so there needs to be some reward and gratification from people who appreciate their efforts. It is something I would like you all to consider. Writing a thank you to their office when they do something that counters him. Because right now, that’s all we got in Congress!

On March 14th we face a government shutdown over the debt ceiling, and WE NEED TO ACT BEFORE THEN, FOR 3 REASONS:
ALL NEWS REPORTING is going to focus on the budget crisis, with practically no bandwidth for covering protests
THIS MAY LITERALLY BE OUR LAST CHANCE to avert complete disaster. We know that Trump takes directions from Putin, whose goal is bring about the collapse of our country. The debt ceiling crisis is the perfect opportunity for him to achieve this, and we need *disruptive* action (not just protests) to stop this from happening.
HEARTS & MINDS WILL FAVOR THE SIDE THAT STRIKES* FIRST. Compare this situation: "How can you throw us into a budget crisis when we're already trying to deal with a national labor action?" versus "How can you even think about pushing labor action when we're already trying to deal with a major budget crisis?" The first scenario makes the GOP look much worse, and gives us much stronger ground to stand on.
* Your mind may go to a "general strike" but there's no way we could pull that off in two weeks. A much better fit (both in timing and for American workers in general) would be widespread SICKOUTS, SLOWDOWNS, AND CONTINUOUS BOYCOTTS
Q: What is it about liberal Americans that makes Republicans so angry?
A: If I had to guess? Republicans tend to operate under a “Just-World Hypothesis”, the idea that the world is what you put into and if you're moral and hardworking, you'll get good outcomes and if you slack off, you earn whatever misfortune happens to you.

Just-world Hypothesis is a concept comparable to what the Western world describe as "karma". It is this tendency to find reasons of moral fairness.
An example of that thinking is the Grasshopper and the Ant Fable, where the Ant works hard all summer while the Grasshopper played and by winter, the Ant lives while the Grasshopper starves and dies.
“Come in the legal way”
“Don't spread your legs then”
“Don't go looting and committing crimes”
“Maybe if you cooperated with the police, you wouldn't be in this mess”
These are all examples of faith that the system is working as it's supposed to and that it's the moral failing of the individuals who they see as “looking for a free handout”.
Liberals however, tend to see the world like the Good Place.
The Good Place is an American fantasy comedy television series created by Michael Schur and the serialized half-hour (22 minutes, the rest being advertising time), which debuted on September 19, 2016 and concluded on January 30, 2020 on NBC. When Eleanor Shellstrop finds herself in the afterlife, she's both relieved and surprised that she's made it into the Good Place. But it doesn't take long for Eleanor to realize she's there by mistake. She hides in plain sight from the Good Place's architect.
Anyone who has watched the show might remember Doug Forcett, a guy who hallucinated what the afterlife was like so accurately that he spent the rest of his days trying to do the most moral actions ever to get points to get into the Good Place. He became vegan on radishes, tested cosmetics on himself to spare animals, lived out in the wilderness to lower his carbon footprint, donated to charities, refused to use a car, filtered his own water to avoid damaging the environment, etc.
Problem was, Doug was never going to make it.
The system that ran the afterlife was by some fluke, not fair in its judgment and sentencing but nobody was aware of that until Michael saw that one of the best examples of humanity was failing the Good Place standards.
Liberals don't trust that the systems will always be fair to those doing everything right.
So to sum it up, whenever Liberals support programs meant to act as a safety net to innocent people, it runs the risk of criminals benefiting in some way from it and exploiting it to get ahead. Usually it's accepted for the greater benefits as part of a Blackstone's ratio, where it's considered better to have a presumption of innocence until proven guilty rather than putting the burden of proof upon the accused. After all, do you really want to be falsely accused for the sake of ensuring no guilty people escape justice?
To Republicans, that's inexcusable.
They worked to get where they are. Why are Liberals rewarding all these criminals? Why are they willing to let these undeserving cretins get away with this to do more harm?
Someone *has* to be held accountable, blamed for the rotten things that happen to them.
To Liberals however, it's not about finding a villain. Sometimes, it's no one's fault because it's more due to a glitch in the system.
What's the point of a system if it's not fixing the problems for people who aren't getting what they put into? Every single law made is never going to be followed perfectly. Why should the larger population suffer for some vague notion that some asshole somewhere is suffering for their poor choices that you'll never see firsthand?
So that's where we are. Liberals tick off Republicans because they don't adhere to the expectations Republicans have of what should happen and what they think will happen by certain actions (which is often not supported by past outcomes that Liberals point to in history). Liberals look like they don't care about evil people getting away with harmful actions when the truth is that they're more occupied with protecting people who are contributing to society over punishing the ones who don't. They're the defense lawyers to Republican prosecution where they're not endorsing crime, but refereeing to make sure the system doesn't go Spanish Inquisition on people.

Lawrence O’Donnell Spots Major Sign Many Trump Voters Have 'Now Turned Against’ Him
The MSNBC host said the president is in trouble with his own voters after weeks of economic turmoil.
MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell said the latest poll numbers are terrible news for President Donald Trump as he struggles with core economic issues.
“He has failed every day on the economy and he has surrounded himself with the most incompetent Cabinet... in history,” he said. “And the public, including Trump voters, have noticed and have turned on Donald Trump.”
O’Donnell said that just as Nixon had partisans even after he resigned, Trump has a core that will not turn on him.
“But the marginal voter who made Donald Trump, that swing voter who made Donald Trump president, has now turned against Donald Trump,” he said.
Multiple polls show Trump’s overall approval rating is plunging, down 5 points in just one month in a new Fox News poll, for example.
The poll numbers are even more dire on the economy.
O’Donnell noted that was once the president’s strongest issue, but “that’s all over now” after weeks of economic instability trigged by Trump’s tariffs and trade wars.
That same Fox News poll finds that just 38% approve of how he is handling the economy, while a new Reuters/Ipsos poll finds a 37% approval on that same issue.
“That number used to be often 20 points higher than that for Donald Trump,” O’Donnell said.
He said voters who liked Trump’s campaign promise to raise tariffs “have learned the hard way” that they will ultimately pay for those tariffs.
“And they don’t like it,” O’Donnell said. “And so Donald Trump’s power is slipping, and could slip away if the polling disaster Donald Trump is personally facing right now tonight spreads to Republicans in the Senate and the House facing reelection next year.”
He predicted that those GOP lawmakers would then “abandon” Trump as they face difficult reelection battles.
