Photoshop Tutorial: Create a Rainbow Heart... or ANY Heart... Using Transform and Polar Coordinates Distort


How to create a Rainbow Colored Heart Shape.



Create two Layers. a Nature Scene as background...
The other a Gradient Fill...
Select Gradient TOOL,
Place mouse in the lower left corner of the image and
click and hold... then drag to upper right hand corner. release.


Select Edit; Transform; Perspective and click.


Click and Hold Bottom left corner and
drag it to the center of the image. release.
Click on the Check Mark at the top, center of the screen.


Select Filter; Distort; Polar Coordinates; click
Click on OK when the popup asks if you want rectangular.
Move heart to a pleasant location...

Of Course, the layer you do the "Heartification" to may be any rectangular image.
Portraits of people end up looking oddly distorted... Abstract Art is often wonderful...
The heart shape can be enhanced with a layer style... bevel and emboss and outer glow...

A variation on the Theme:



Using Edit; Transform; Perspective...
Drag the lower left corner all the way to the lower right...
Creating a double Pyramid Layer.





Then Filter; Distort; Polar Coordinates;
click OK on the popup... Rectangular.

"What happens when I use Perspective Transform
moving the lower Left UP to the center of the SIDE?

and...

What happens with Polar Distort from
Circular to rectangular?
