You get to choose your own drugs to get help with... Many other members choose to use marijuana and doctor prescribed pain pills... but... that's their own way...
For me, it turned out that Oregon Legal Marijuana was more than I could handle. I smoked it all day every day for about 8 months and then quit totally. I wanted to take a springtime driving vacation and did not want to have a confrontation with the police. At that time Marijuana was Illegal in California where I live and camping out in my van often triggers meetings with law enforcement... so, I just left the marijuana at home when I set out on my voyage...
What I didn't realize was that the vast quantities of THC stored in my body kept me stoned for about a month... without smoking at all. I was making decisions based on my intoxicated view of reality... as it turned out, sometimes I experienced events that didn't happen...
So, I ended up in a hospital with an infected blister on my foot. I was doing a lot of walking around and needed medical attention. The doctors treated my foot and also tested my blood... I tested positive for THC even though I had not smoked in a month... I was staying at the hospital enjoying good food, nurses and cable TV when THE POLICE CAME INTO MY ROOM. They asked me to go downstairs and get in an ambulance that took me to a mental hospital... I tried to explain to them that I did not need any Mental Health treatment but they insisted... I was handcuffed to the gurney and off we went...
I stayed in the mental hospital for 15 days and then the released me... It turned out that there was nothing wrong with me at all... go figure... I guess the doctors needed patients to justify their paychecks and I was an easy target...
