Compulsive Hoarding of Money Syndrome CAN BE CURED.

While the historical solutions of the USA in 1776 and France in 1789 appear appealing on first glance, they would simply not work in a global economy of 2017. A 12 step program might be more efficient. Greed Freaks Anonymous can help the most absurdly addicted capitalists.

I'm impressed by the G20 protesters. Burning baracades in the middle of the street makes for good TV coverage.

We should learn from them and use that tactic in the future...

I believe that Putin played Trump. I'm glad that they had a good meeting, but in general, the fact that the Russians had press conferences after words means that the world only heard their side of the story. Putin said that he didn't hack the USA elections and Trump... we will never know what Trump said. What we do know is that Putin appeared to be a strong leader. German police impressed me with the fact that no one was killed. They managed to keep the riot under control and let both the Summit and the protest happen safely.

The protesters do need to be more clear about their message. What IS anti-capitalism? IS that their message? They ought to make a website explaining their goals with a simple address that they can put on signs... so TV viewers can read what they are protesting about...  the only one I found was diem25...

 https://diem25.org/

"DiEM25 is a pan-European, cross-border movement of democrats.
We believe that the European Union is disintegrating. Europeans are losing their faith in the possibility of European solutions to European problems. At the same time as faith in the EU is waning, we see a rise of misanthropy, xenophobia and toxic nationalism.
If this development is not stopped, we fear a return to the 1930s. That is why we have come together despite our diverse political traditions - Green, radical left, liberal - in order to repair the EU. The EU needs to become a realm of shared prosperity, peace and solidarity for all Europeans. We must act quickly, before the EU disintegrates."

Massive G20 protest march in Hamburg - Police use water cannons against crowd. Anti-Capitalists speak up.

G20 in Hamburg: Police and protesters clash

The "Welcome to Hell" protest was over shortly after it began, following a day of suspense in Hamburg.

While it was difficult to understand the reason for the protests it seems to be anti-capitalism. Most of the people involved seemed young - teenagers to 30 somethings - I can relate to their discord over the super rich holding a meeting in their town. The GenXers look forward to a life of wage slavery... Donald Trump is an perfect example of one of the 1% that just decided to purchase the USA Presidency for personal amusement.

German Police Deploy Water Cannon Against G20 Protesters

Hamburg officials are ramping up security as thousands of demonstrators head to the port city this weekend to confront world leaders.

Politicians, civil servants and protestors convene in Hamburg for the start of the G20, in what’s billed as a showdown between Europe and the US over climate change, migration and free trade. But campaign group Global Justice Now has slammed the agenda as “the same tired and failed policies which produced monsters like Trump in the first place”. They argue for fundamental change to defeat the serious danger which the so-called right-wing populists like Trump represent to the future of the world.

G20: Hamburg shuts down ahead of summit protests... Huge demonstration planned for Thursday.

The prime ministers and  presidents have yet to arrive, but protests have already turned to violence. Earlier this week, police used water cannon to disperse demonstrators and there have been scuffles as officers tried to clear small tented camps set up by protestors. Last night, a Porsche garage was torched. On Thursday night a huge demonstration is planned. On Friday, protesters aim to stop world leaders getting into the summit. At Hamburg's police headquarters, there is an atmosphere of nervous tension. Teams of officers in minibuses drive in and out past lines of water cannon and police vans, parked up and ready for action. About 20,000 officers are on duty over the course of G20. The police, it seems, are taking no chances. They say up to 8,000 extremists, armed with home-made weapons, are targeting the city. .
