I constantly see posts and comments from people who say that they're voting for Trump because of inflation, and of course they blame Biden for that, as if Biden could somehow bring prices back down but is intentionally choosing not to for some inexplicable reason. I really wish these people would explain what it is that they think Trump is going to do differently than Biden in order to bring prices back down. The reality, of course, is that inflation is a worldwide issue which was brought on by the pandemic, and it's not something a president can control. It is an absolutely LUDICROUS reason to vote for a felon who doesn't respect the Constitution and attempted to stage a coup to stay in power after losing an election, and who has already stated that he won't accept the results of the next election if he doesn't win. People really think it's worth it to vote for someone like that because they somehow believe that person will magically be able to lower prices at the grocery store? And if Trump is re-elected and prices don't magically go down at the grocery store, what will these people say then? I'm sure they'll find a way to continue to blame higher prices on Biden, or maybe they'll suddenly acknowledge the fact that the American president can't control worldwide inflation. But it really makes people sound ignorant when they continue to act as if inflation is something the president can control. It makes me sad that some people are willing to vote for an election-denying wannabe dictator over something like inflation.
