and then on FaceBorg a Zen Buddhist Said:
As much as we would always love to be positive and upbeat, the truth is that this is not realistic. Tough times will happen, but that's just the natural course of life.
Without tough times, you would never appreciate the good, so it's natural you will go through periods with a negative mindset. The problem arises when that mindset becomes constant as it will ruin your life.
One of the biggest causes of a negative mindset is fear.
The trick is choosing what you allow into your mind, and what can influence you. This means you might need to turn off the news or avoid people who only bring you down.
But as we mentioned, a negative mindset is nothing but a habit, and any habit can be broken.
Look at negative thoughts like spam email. You wouldn't take a spam email seriously, you just delete it.

A little gratitude can do wonders for your mood. When you practice gratitude, you shift your thoughts away from negative emotions and uncomfortable sensations.
Instead, you begin to focus on good things that you may have overlooked.
Gratitude involves showing appreciation for the things in life that are meaningful or valuable to you.
Taking a moment to notice and acknowledge the things you're grateful for each day can brighten your outlook, boost your mood, and help you feel more positive in the face of challenges.

One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back. ~Carl Sagan

With heavy hearts 💔, we bid farewell to a legendary electronic pop pioneer, Gary Wright. Wright played a huge role in synth history by helping to bring synth music to pop radio with his hit songs “Dream Weaver,” and “Love is Alive” off of the “The Dream Weaver” LP.
The song “Dream Weaver” featured an entrancingly otherworldly synthetic sound that distinguished itself from the other tracks on the radio, this sound was created by none other than the string synth, the ARP String Ensemble. This innovative string synthesizer offered musicians the ability to play chords, a departure from the predominantly monophonic nature of early synthesizers! Wright’s “The Dream Weaver” was revolutionary because other then live drums, all instruments on the LP were electronic keyboards, aside from one guitar part thanks to Ronnie Montrose. Apart from his success with “The Dream Weaver”, Wright was also a valued member of Spooky Tooth and contributed his exceptional skills to the works of George Harrison, Ringo Starr, as well as numerous significant session and soundtrack projects over the course of his lifetime. Fly high, Gary 🕊.

and then on FaceBorg... SE Said:
As someone who worked a LOT of retail and restaurant jobs in my lifetime, it always seemed wrong to call this day "Labor Day" when so many people do NOT get the day off work. In fact, if you work retail, your store is very likely having a "Labor Day sale," which means you may have to work extra hard on this supposed holiday. It's true that the people with cushy office jobs are the only ones who get a holiday today.
This is actually true of most holidays now: the really hard-working retail and restaurant workers, who are on their feet all day long dealing with rude customers, are often expected to work EXTRA HARD on holidays while the people who sit at desks all day and never have to work nights get all of the holidays off. That's why there was so much backlash about retail stores staying open on Thanksgiving, because Thanksgiving used to be one of the few holidays retail workers actually had off. But now, depending on the store, the workers may NOT have that holiday off anymore.
But if they're going to call a holiday "Labor Day," and if they're going to say that it's a day to honor those who labor, then it should be a day OFF for those who labor. I know this will never happen, but that's the way it SHOULD be.

SE said: SmashMouth is a San Jose band. I remember when they used to play at the small local clubs, before they hit it big. I have to admit, I was never a huge fan of their music. But it was nice that a band from San Jose got some fame and recognition.
I never met Steve Harwell, but I know a guy who went to junior high with him, and I know other people who knew him from the local music scene in the early 90s. He was only a couple years older than me. Way too young to die.
RIP Steve Harwell.

and I Replied:
When I was working at Radio Shack we used "Walking on the Sun" as Inspirational Theme Music for Team Meetings... The Lyrics are about Buying Stuff "So don't delay, act now, supplies are running out" and We were all about Selling Stuff... I remember going to a Meeting in a Fancy Hotel with a Hundreds of Employees... and We Played that song REALLY LOUD before the SELL, SELL, SELL Speeches...
