Dolos in Eureka on the North Jetty - Photographs of Humboldt County, CA by gvan42
Looking at Eureka in the Distance

Dolos are Giant Concrete Objects that are used to Build Breakwaters... The ODD SHAPE prevents Ocean Waves from Washing them Away... Originally, The Jetties Were Built using Giant Rocks but... Storms Washed them Away...
They are about TEN Feet from End to End...

Psychedelic Poetry - "CEREMONY AND RITUAL" - a story - Fiction - written by Gregory Vanderlaan about a Trip to Philadelphia - Grateful Dead at JFK Stadium and The Spectrum Arena - deadheads: stories from fellow artists

OUR MINDS HAVE BEEN FUSED INTO ONE SHIMMERING
COLONIAL ANIMAL…
FLOWING IN THE
CURRENTS OF THE MUSIC…
adrenaline, serotonin, synapses on fire !

IN THE SHADOWS,TORCHES FLICKER IN THE BREEZE.
THE ORACLE BEGINS TO SPEAK,
FEEL THE HEAT…
adrenaline, serotonin, synapses on fire!

WE DANCE OUTSIDE OF THE TRADITIONAL
REALM OF TIME AND SPACE.
THE CROWD ERUPTS IN OUTBURSTS OF FREE-FORM MOTION
AS THE INTENSITY OF THE JAM PEAKS
adrenaline, serotonin, synapses on fire!
MY BODY IS TRANSFORMED INTO A PINBALL AND
I RICCOCHET AROUND THE SPECTRUM
ARENA BOUNCING OFF THE FLASHING LIGHTS.
A CROWD OF DEADHEADS
SURROUND ME INTENT ON TELLING ME STUPID JOKES…
THEY JUST…know… THAT I WILL LAUGH…
adrenaline, serotonin, synapses on fire!

THANK YOU DR. ALBERT HOFFMAN
***************************************
This was written after attending a Grateful Dead concert in JFK Stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I was sitting up above the crowd in the bleachers and could see the dancers move more enthusiastically during peaks of the music… less motion during gentle passages… as the dynamics of the improvisation ebbed and flowed, the dancers moved accordingly… like sea anemones moving in the currents of the ocean… I also mention the Spectrum in Philadelphia… It has many blinking advertisements for Atlantic city casinos in the area where refreshments were being served…

Pigeon Point Lighthouse on Highway 1 near
Santa Cruz, California

"Ohio" by Neil Young as written in Butano (half way between Santa Cruz and San Francisco on Highway 1) David Crosby Said: It was in a friend of ours’ house in Butano Canyon up in Northern Central California. Neil and I were sat out on the porch and our friend had just come back from the grocery store, where he’d gone to get breakfast, And he had that Life magazine with the picture of the girl and the other kid in a puddle of blood and the question “Why?” written all over her face. Neil and I both looked at it and realised we were now in a country that was shooting its children. It was a shocker for the both of us. The guitar happened to be on the other side of me and he said “Hand me that”, so I gave it to him. And Neil sat there right in front of me and wrote it. It took him maybe ten minutes to write that song, then I got on the phone to Nash and said “Get a studio, right now! And find Stephen and get him there too. We’re coming to Los Angeles now.” And within 24 hours of Neil writing it, we had it recorded.

Big Wave Surfing ART... and Photos of Eureka's North Jetty

My interpretation of surfing done in the computer where
there is an automatic math function that "waves" any image.

Inside the Tube
Organic Waves...
Splashing over the North Jetty of Eureka.
Many days you may walk on this concrete...
THIS WAS NOT ONE OF THOSE DAYS.
Underwater after wipeout... looking up at the wave
Surf the Web
Fish Surfing a Wave
These waves destroyed the concrete jetty.
Note that it is missing from right hand side... Swept Away...
This place is great for Jet Ski towing a Surfer and Board
out to the mouth of the Channel between the North and South Jetties.
It is a very long ride and paddling out would be just too much exercise.
Here is another day when it's a good idea to walk on the beach where it is safe.
That's me... My Friend took this photo and she was up
on the SAND DUNES where you never are in danger. SMART!
Tsunami Tidal Wave Art
It's all done using MATH...
The reason a breaking wave looks the way it does is PHYSICS...
and one thing MATH does really well is describe PHYSICS.
Seagull Wave Clouds

Fish Swimming Against the School
MAO had a famous quote "The true revolutionary will swim thru the people like a fish in the sea." What I believe he meant was... While the revolution is being realized it would be best to stay low profile so the old regime's police force will not notice you and throw you in jail...
Just the opposite of what this illustration shows.
I wonder what LMAO would say...
