While the USA Exploded over 100 Atom Bombs in Nevada, we were not actually AT WAR with Nevada. Zero Godzilla type creatures evolved.

I was watching the science fiction movie THEM! where Giant Ants terrorized the Southwest USA... When I realized that the actual effect of Radioactive Fallout is Death, not Giant Monsters... That was a common plot in movies of the 1950s. That was the origin story of Godzilla, Mothra and many other characters in Japanese Monster Flicks... and THEM!

THEM! Giant Ants Caused by Atomic Radiation

In Reality, radiation caused increased death by cancer in Utah and the states downwind from the Nevada Test Site. About HALF of the USA was Downwind and Most of the North West and North East States were NUKED. Actor John Wayne died of Atomic Bomb caused Cancer... He made many "Western" movies in polluted areas...

The USA exploded TWO (2) Atom Bombs in Japan during WW2. I believe that dropping atom bombs in Japan during WW2 Caused the Japanese to Surrender, ending the war.

AND it changed that attitude of the Japanese Government and the People as well. BEFORE Nuking, The Japanese Government had a severe case of 'tudinitis... They wanted to invade, conquer and enslave neighboring countries... NOT a very pleasant way of life for their neighbors... They also caused a lot of death... AFTER Nuking, they focused their attention on building great cars and electronic devices... a MUCH BETTER way of life...

While some people say that Hiroshima and Nagasaki were horrible events, the naysayers fail to acknowledge the CHANGE of Culture that ensued... Japanese People Became Nice and Pleasant to live next to. Just ask the People of The Philippine Islands, China and Vietnam...

Soldiers waiting to see what the Effects of an Atom Bomb will be.
