Why not Simply Fly from SF to LA? No need for a Train... High speed rail is absurd... Will anyone actually ride it? I'm Reminded of The Simpsons episode: Marge versus the Monorail... Lots of singing and dancing about the wonders of the Monorail! Based on that old time movie "The Music Man" ...

Many train rides make a lot of sense but not SF to LA... 

I rode the train from San Jose to San Francisco and that's quite fun! I also rode the light rail all around San Jose... And the Amtrak from Martinez to the Levi's Stadium... That was for the Grateful Dead concert and I didn't have to park a car... Or drive a car while out of my mind on marijuana cookies...

I also rode the monorail to the Space Needle in Seattle... And a monorail around Las Vegas... the PATH train from New Jersey into Manhattan, and used the subway to get around town... I also rode BART and the Washington DC Metro... All great!

For some unknown reason the voters in the state of California approved funding for a high-speed rail from San Francisco to Los Angeles... What were they thinking?
