Trump promises ‘biggest air and fireworks show in history’ at Fourth of July event headlined by him...
Nature seems to be taking its revenge today on the most environmentally-unfriendly American president in history.
Donald Trump's Great American State Fair — the lavish, self-aggrandizing replacement for the congressionally chartered America250 celebration that he scrapped so he could put his own stamp on the nation's 250th birthday — has been forced to shut down in the middle of the afternoon because it is simply too hot for human beings to stand outside.
Temperatures on the National Mall hit nearly 100 degrees shortly after 1 p.m. Friday, with heat index values approaching a lethal 112 degrees. DC Fire and EMS confirmed they were already responding to heat-related medical calls. Fox News' own congressional correspondent described conditions as "miserably hot and humid" — "genuinely feels like a sauna when you step outside."
Everyone was asked to go to the exits. Luckily, the fair has been so poorly attended that it didn’t take long for the site to be evacuated.
Let that image sink in. Trump's big, beautiful, patriotic celebration of American greatness — the one he hijacked from a bipartisan commission that spent years planning it — cleared out by noon on the day before July 4th because the planet is on fire.
The same planet Trump has spent decades insisting isn't warming. The same climate crisis his administration has systematically dismantled every protection against. The same extreme heat events that scientists have been warning about for years while Trump pulled out of the Paris Agreement, gutted the EPA, and handed fossil fuel companies everything they asked for.
Freedom 250 — the Trump-branded operation running the event — gamely promised complimentary water bottles and assured everyone conditions would "improve later this afternoon." The evening lineup features an opera singer, a Grammy-winning music educator, and a contestant from The Voice.
Meanwhile, one in five Americans told pollsters they won't be celebrating July 4th at all this year. Several Democratic-led states and musical acts declined to participate in Trump's takeover of the holiday. And the U.S. Mint is still printing a commemorative gold coin with his face on it.
Trump wanted to make America's 250th birthday about himself. Instead, he got empty fairgrounds, heat casualties, and a planet delivering its verdict in real time.
Happy birthday, America. This is what climate denial looks like. Let’s hope the planet survives for the next 250 years.

THEY WALKED OUT. His speech was only 20 minutes long - and yet, everyone was walking out halfway through it - red hat after red hat.
Apparently they only came for the 2 hours of entertainment, and when they that saw he was just going to drone on and on about himself instead of America, in that whiny voice of his - HONEST, it really is like nails on a chalkboard - they figured it was time to get a jump on traffic, and left.
HIS ENTIRE CABINET, and their families, and their staffs, were there for his rally. That probably accounted for the portion of the crowd that stayed. And for all the loud lusty cheers that seemed to come from only one section of the crowd.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy even brought his family and all his kids on stage with him for HIS speech, during the music portion, and asked everyone, RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS CHILDREN, if they thought the Military Bands were better than the "LIBT*RD" musicians who cancelled.
That set the tone for the entire event. Right there.

Finally after 2 hours of speeches and people singing other people's hit songs (Leonard Cohen's Estate explicitly banned the Trump campaign from using "Hallelujah" - but they did it anyway) Lee Greenwood came out all sparkly to sing his special song that he wrote JUST for America.
We should pause here to remember that Lee Greenwood ALSO recorded another adaptation of "God Bless the USA" in 1989 called "God Bless You Canada", which replaced American-specific imagery with Canadian geography. But I am sure he'd rather everyone forget about that.
So never mind.

Trump's short speech sounded like Stephen Miller's style, with attempts at lofty phrases that sputtered out, and plummeted right back down in the gutter.
It was all his usual lies about his so called accomplishments of lowering prices and bringing peace to the Mideast after 3,000 years, and factories "being built right now" that will bring thousands and thousands of jobs.
He bragged about eliminating DEI, and deporting all the dangerous criminals, and beautifying all of Washington DC. Oh he was dead serious about that last part - he went on and on and ON crooning about his carnage, as if his audience could not see the sad reality right in front of them.
As for his goals for America's future, there are even MORE GREAT days ahead. He's gonna build his Arch de Trump, just for us, and close the streets of Washington DC for a Gran Prix style race, and hold his very own version of the Hunger Games in August.
Apparently, THAT is still only in the planning stages - in fact, he said the "Best of the Best" High School Students are busy filling out applications RIGHT NOW to compete in his "Patriot Games". Someone should tell him that NONE of them are, right now. School's out for summer.

Speaking of which, Trump announced, to big cheers from his Cabinet and their kids, that he also plans to abolish the Department of Education, COMPLETELY, and send the entire financial burden "back to the states."
Like he said at his Easter Prayer Luncheon speech, America can't AFFORD to pay for things like child care and Medicaid and Medicare. The states are going to have to take care of their own people and their own problems, and just raise taxes. America needs ALL its money for the MILITARY. For WAR. Yes. He said that in April. At his Easter PRAYER Luncheon.
He still has world domination plans. And he plans to fight "the enemy" here at home as well.
"It looks like we're going to have to fight fascism and communism again," he said at the end of his Rally.
No, he was not talking about his own regime, but about the primary wins of Mayor Mamdani's backed Democratic candidates in New York, and the win of a Democratic Socialist candidate for mayor of Washington DC. He has already threatened to take over governing DC if she wins.
