There are moments in history when a people must remind themselves who they are. Not subjects. Not spectators. Not an audience waiting to be told what to believe or whom to obey. Citizens. The authors of their own government. The source from which every legitimate power flows. No officeholder inherits that power. No officeholder owns it. It is loaned, briefly and conditionally, by the people themselves.
The idea of a king was not defeated once and forever in 1776. It returns, again and again, wearing new clothes, speaking new slogans, asking for loyalty instead of accountability. It thrives wherever citizens forget their own authority. It weakens the moment they remember it.
March 28 is not about protest alone. It is about memory. About standing visibly inside the oldest promise this country ever made, that no man stands above the law, and no citizen stands beneath another. The crown was never destroyed. It was simply reclaimed and broken apart, its pieces distributed among millions.
