Cooking Brown Rice & Tuna. Since I spent many years cooking for myself and being poor... This is one of my favorite dishes... Might be handy to learn this for the upcoming Global Economic Collapse...

In a big saucepan, put three cups of water and one cup of brown rice and a can of tuna... Add salt and pepper... Bring it to a full rolling boil...  Turn off the heat and cover the pan... In about 10 minutes It'll be done... If it's still too runny heat it up and boil off excess water...

Another classic... French Onion Soup Dip! Buy a pint of sour cream, a package of Lipton's Onion Soup... And mix them together... So simple and yet so tasty!

Coffee cup

When I say a "cup" that means any unit of measure you want... For me, I always used my coffee cup which is about twice as big as a formal "cup" - but whatever you do, for brown rice the ratio is 3 to 1... For white rice the ratio is 2 to 1... But I never voluntarily purchased white rice... So maybe I'm wrong...

One of my favorite sources of salt and pepper was purchased at the feed store in Eureka California... There's a company that makes salt licks for animals that you put out in the field and all the cattle and deer and whoever can lick it... That same company makes a human grade spice containing salt, pepper and garlic... If it's good enough for the cows, it's good enough for me!

The other thing I really love to cook is Ramen... What's especially nice is you can cook it using the hot water that comes out of the tap in the bathroom... Handy if you rent a motel room... And it took all your money... But you can get a brick of Ramen, 24 packages for $2 at WinCo... And they'll store forever... So there they are... in the back of the van... Waiting for a moment of hunger...

I also like burning flour tortillas on the gas range of the stove... Just throw them right on the flame and let him sit there until they develop black spots... Turn it over and burn the other side... Perfect for tacos, burritos or quesadillas... Or just put some butter on them...
