I Stopped Shopping at Walmart... I use Instacart delivery and now they added a "Long Distance Service Fee $10.00" --- Grocery Outlet Does Not!

They can steal from me one time but not twice... I complained about the extra charge but nothing happened so I'll just stop shopping there... It's very important to look carefully at the bill when shopping online...

It's 2.6 Miles from my house to My Local Walmart but they choose to deliver from a Walmart located in Vacaville... And that IS a long distance... And that is a bad choice...

Our job right now is to make sure Democrats keep up the fight to get ICE Out For Good and Republicans agree to a DHS funding bill that protects our communities and civil rights.

And then on Faceborg SE said:

Whenever there is a discussion about the endless construction of high-density housing all over San Jose, people always express valid concerns about overcrowding, traffic, and especially the water supply. I've lived here for the majority of my life, and I've seen the population grow by hundreds of thousands of people, and it continues to grow rapidly. But in that time, there have never been any new reservoirs built. We are using the same reservoirs which we used 50 years ago when we had a fraction of the population that we have now.
When you mention your concerns in these discussions, the "we need more housing" people often get very condescending, as if our concerns are ridiculous. They call us NIMBYs, but I don't think it's a "not in my backyard" situation so much as we are already seeing and feeling the effects of overcrowding, and we hate to see it get worse. And although it is raining right now, San Jose gets very little rain overall. We are frequently in a drought, and we often have mandatory water rationing in effect. If you follow my posts at all, you've seen that I often talk about the lack of rain and the long stretches of dry weather that we tend to have...and when it DOES rain, it's rarely very much. And when we DO get a nice soaking, it's followed by another long stretch of dry weather. The point is, we can't COUNT ON rain filling up our reservoirs. It's pretty much a constant concern of will we get rain? And if we do, will it be enough?
So it's extremely insulting when people say that we're stupid for being concerned about the water supply when we see hundreds of thousands of apartments under construction all over town. The only argument these people ever offer in response to our concerns is to tell us that people living in apartments use less water than people living in single-family homes. Okay, that's fine, I understand that...but we're talking about HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of new apartments. Yes, I get that a person living in an apartment uses less water than someone living in a house, but when you're talking about HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS more people moving into the area, it doesn't really matter that they're living in apartments because the sheer number of people is going to need a lot more water than we're currently using. But when you point this out, they just laugh-react and act like we're stupid for being concerned. They really don't have a valid argument for the water issue because comparing a single family home to hundreds of thousands of apartments simply isn't logical.
And regarding "we need more housing": there are vacant apartments EVERYWHERE in San Jose. I know this because I've been looking for an apartment for a long time. I haven't moved yet because most of the available apartments are smaller than what I currently have, and they often lack some of the features that I'm used to having, and they're usually a lot more expensive. But there are TONS of apartments available, so I really don't see the need for the endless, endless construction of high-density apartments when there are so many vacancies. I'm afraid these hideous monstrosities being built everywhere are just going to eventually become slums.

And then I replied:
Whatever happened to the percolation ponds in Campbell visible from Highway 17? When I was a young man you could see three ponds off the side of the road that had the entire purpose of helping water go into the water table Underground... Now they're gone...

I looked them up on Google Maps and they're still there! I was totally wrong...
now it's a park!
