She has garnered global attention for carrying out a weekly school strike against climate change in her home country of Sweden. “We need to change ourselves now, because tomorrow it might be too late,” says Thunberg. We are also joined by her father, Svante Thunberg, a Swedish actor.

I saw the "Values Voter Summit" on CSPAN and it was an endless stream of former important people making angry speeches... There was a moment of "OH, There's That GUY!" and then they would display the person's name... and I experienced the Memory Wave of Forgotten Pundits... They really dug up some zombies... Do you remember Michele Bachmann? Well, she is not dead, just ignored... and a Speaker at the "Values Voter Summit" a collection of people telling you what to do.

Hundreds of demonstrators crowded the streets of downtown San Francisco on Thursday morning, banging drums and chanting as they called on local and world leaders at the Global Climate Action Summit to do more to address climate change and pollution.

“We’re fighting for future generations,” said Dorthea Enrique, who traveled from Detroit to take part in the protest. “We want them to listen to our voices and protect us from corporate greed.”

It was the third day of demonstrations this week. On Saturday, thousands had marched through the city for “climate, jobs and justice,” and Monday saw about 200 people, mainly indigenous groups, protesting Gov. Jerry Brown’s Climate and Forest Task Force.

G20: Hamburg shuts down ahead of summit protests... Huge demonstration planned for Thursday.

The prime ministers and  presidents have yet to arrive, but protests have already turned to violence. Earlier this week, police used water cannon to disperse demonstrators and there have been scuffles as officers tried to clear small tented camps set up by protestors. Last night, a Porsche garage was torched. On Thursday night a huge demonstration is planned. On Friday, protesters aim to stop world leaders getting into the summit. At Hamburg's police headquarters, there is an atmosphere of nervous tension. Teams of officers in minibuses drive in and out past lines of water cannon and police vans, parked up and ready for action. About 20,000 officers are on duty over the course of G20. The police, it seems, are taking no chances. They say up to 8,000 extremists, armed with home-made weapons, are targeting the city. .
