We Went To San Francisco Starting in the Sixties because My Father Was Friends With a Family with Two Sons The Same Age as my Brother and I.

They took us to the Exploratorium, The Fillmore West, Chinatown on New Years, The Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park... The De-Young Museum... The Academy of Sciences... The Arboretum (a Large Glass Greenhouse Painted White)... I've Walked Across the Golden Gate Bridge... Driven to the Top of Twin Peaks... The Ferry Building is Where there used to be an Accurate Scale Model of the Bay... used to study tides... Girardelli Square Chocolate, The Haight Ashbury... North Beach (We Went to see Exotic Dancers in Indian Costumes - Because we were too Young for the Topless Bars) - Grandpa Lived Between the Haight and Mount Sutro... I've Danced to the Drums on Hippie Hill, Heard the Grateful Dead Play at Winterland, The Rolling Stones, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Traffic, and ELP at Winterland, Led Zeppelin at Kesar Stadium, The SNACK Concert... I'm REALLY LUCKY to Have Been There, Done That and Got the Tie Dye To Prove IT!

We went on a Boat Ride Dance on the Bay... Red and White Fleet - with a Band and we Cruised Near the Docks of Oakland... Really Pretty at Night... Dined at Casa Valhalla in Sausalito... But I Never Toured Alcatraz! I Have More Adventures To Be Done!

My Family Went Cross Country Skiing On the North Shore of Lake Tahoe at a High School Football Field. That way Some of us could Ski and the Children Could Saucer... and the Grandparents Could Just Stand Around... I Have found that Cross Country Skiing is Very similar to "Taking a Walk in the Woods" but You Can Travel TWICE AS FAR... Half The Time You are Going Down Hill and that Takes almost no effort... and you go a lot faster... and then going up hill is Just about the same as walking...

The Last Thing I Ever Did With My Mom and Dad was... Visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Mom was rolling around in her wheelchair and Dad was pushing her. I figured they were fine and I went off on my own to Tour by Myself... Including the Giant Kelp Forest and the Outdoor Balcony overlooking the water. I Ate Some Magic Mushrooms... I figured that No One Would Know that I Wasn't "Just Eating My Lunch..." - Anyway, Mom Got Surrounded by a Flock of Screaming Elementary School Children and That Caused Her to Become Upset. As a Matter of Fact, That was the Last Time She Ever Left Our House to Go Visit Anything... I Had a Great Time... It's an Incredibly Beautiful Museum.

On another Occasion, I Ate Mushrooms and Snuck into a New Car Show at the San Jose Convention Center on the Day before it Opened. I was Dressed in a "TECHIE" Uniform. White Shirt, Necktie, Ponytail and MADNESS IN MY EYES... Obviously, No One Challenged Me or asked What I was Doing There... On Mushrooms I Often "Channel My Inner Chewbacca..." and People Just Get Out of My Way... Sometimes It Bothers Me that I Frighten People... Like the Librarians at The San Jose Public Library... I Love Them and Absolutely Do Not Want to Do them any Harm...

I saw the Brand New VW Beetle. The Next Day my Boss asked me What Color the Beetle was... and I Had to Lie because I Could Not Tell Him That it was Purple and Green Paisley and the Pattern Was Dancing the Macarena!

Pigeon Point Lighthouse on Highway 1 near
Santa Cruz, California

"Ohio" by Neil Young as written in Butano (half way between Santa Cruz and San Francisco on Highway 1) David Crosby Said: It was in a friend of ours’ house in Butano Canyon up in Northern Central California. Neil and I were sat out on the porch and our friend had just come back from the grocery store, where he’d gone to get breakfast, And he had that Life magazine with the picture of the girl and the other kid in a puddle of blood and the question “Why?” written all over her face. Neil and I both looked at it and realised we were now in a country that was shooting its children. It was a shocker for the both of us. The guitar happened to be on the other side of me and he said “Hand me that”, so I gave it to him. And Neil sat there right in front of me and wrote it. It took him maybe ten minutes to write that song, then I got on the phone to Nash and said “Get a studio, right now! And find Stephen and get him there too. We’re coming to Los Angeles now.” And within 24 hours of Neil writing it, we had it recorded.

Sutro Tower...
Visible from My Dad's House in Los Gatos... 50 miles away...
Yes, TV Broadcast is possible within "Line of Sight"... So we put a big Yagi Antenna on the roof and enjoyed all the SF Stations clearly.
