The top two candidates in this primary will advance to the general election in November, regardless of party affiliation. Most Californians vote by mail, and ballots postmarked on or before Election Day have one week to arrive. In the 2024 primary, about half of results were reported by 5 a.m. Eastern time the day after the election. It took 10 days before 95 percent of results were reported.
We just don't know who will be running for election in November. One Third of the votes are yet to be counted!
