Sandy E Said: I'm starting to think that some people are so brainwashed by what they hear on certain news sources, they don't have a clue what's really going on. Over the weekend, I went to a local wine bar with a friend. It turns out you can order a glass of wine now without also being required to order food. 

We sat in the nice outdoor area and drank our wine, and my friend was wondering why California is still "locked down" while other states aren't. 

I held up my glass of wine in the form of a toast, and I said, "Do you really feel like we're locked down? If we were locked down, could we be sitting here at this wine bar having a glass of wine?" After we left there, we went somewhere else for dinner. Could we do that if we were locked down? Yesterday I went to a mall, and last week I went to a different mall, and today I'm planning to go to some local antique stores (small businesses which are also open). There is literally NOTHING I want to do that I can't do right now...and yet, some people keep insisting that our state is locked down. It's bizarre to me. I assume people must be hearing this somewhere, probably right-wing news channels. Fox News is probably telling their viewers that California is locked down and we're all trapped inside of our homes, and if we dare try to step outside, there are military-type guards who force us back into our homes because that's what I picture when I hear words like "lockdown." I don't picture being able to sit outside at a sidewalk cafe drinking wine on a beautiful day, or being able to go out for dinner, or being able to shop at the mall, or being able to go antique shopping. Yes, we have to wear masks, and yes, stores are supposed to limit the number of customers who can be inside at any given time. But we can go anywhere we want. I'm tired of people thinking we're locked down.
