I'm going to explain why we need Medicare-for-All. When J.F.K. was calling for Universal Healthcare, he said at the time we were not providing the same level of care as other countries.
In the 1990s I saw a woman testifying in Congress that her job working for an insurance company was to take high dollar claims that were coming in and pull the paperwork the patient signed while getting insurance, look for a mistake that had been made by the patient and use that mistake to deny coverage. She said she knew people had died as a result of her actions. The question we need to ask ourselves is does it make sense to give trillions of dollars each year to insurance companies that work hard to avoid paying for healthcare? The most obvious example of this is pre-existing conditions which came into play only in the U.S. so insurance companies could avoid paying for medical expenses. Those with pre-existing conditions had their medical expenses paid for by state aid, if they were lucky. This means we were giving trillions of dollars to insurance companies for the express purpose of paying medical expenses while also paying millions in taxes to cover the expenses the insurance companies refused to cover.
In 2020 millions of people in this country lost jobs because of the pandemic. A high percentage of those also lost insurance coverage because they could no longer afford to pay premiums. So there are those who lost their jobs, then lost insurance coverage, then got sick and went to the hospital ending up tens of thousands of dollars in debt. This happens every time we have a serious economic downturn. It's cruel and oppressive...people are dying in the name of corporate profits. The U.S. is the only country that allows people to go bankrupt because they got sick or injured. The number one reason citizens of this country file for bankruptcy is medical debt.
In Germany, single payer healthcare is working so well that a person feeling stress can have a doctor write a prescription for a free three week stay at a spa. Germany has a healthcare system that reduces stress while we have a system that CAUSES stress.
Recent studies have indicated that Medicare-for-All would save billions each year. The most recent that I'm aware of was done by Yale University. It concluded that Medicare-for-All would save approximately $500 billion dollars and 30,000 lives every year.
Medicare-for-All (or single payer) has the approval of nearly 70% of U.S. citizens. We won't have justice or democracy in this country until the government starts working for the people instead of working for corporations.

I’m seeing so much ignorance surrounding the Kyle Rittenhouse case it’s absurd. Some of you really have the audacity to be of the opinion that this man acted in self defense?! Opinions and bias’s aside, you do realize that LEGALLY he should not have even been able to claim self defense because he LEGALLY was not even allowed to open carry an assault rifle at 17. It’s like getting into a car accident but not having a license, it makes you automatically at fault because LEGALLY you should not have been driving in the first place. Even putting that aside, the only time you can claim self defense when in a public place is if you are first met with DEADLY FORCE threatening life or limb. The 3 victims that he shot in the protest were unarmed. Fearing getting into a scuffle with an unarmed man because you are WAVING A RIFLE AROUND does not warrant you to use deadly force. Again, opinions aside, it’s literally the law. The lawful thing to have done, would have been to retreat to the line of police. Had he been at the legal age to openly carry an assault rifle, the only instance in which he should have been able to fatally shoot anyone and claim self defense, is if they were a clear physical threat to him and brandishing a weapon that threatened life and loss of limb. Pay close attention to the part that says HAD HE BEEN OF LEGAL AGE. Therefore, it was NOT in fact, self defense, because (keep up with me now) at 17, he was ILLEGALLY carrying the assault rifle that he used to commit homicide on 2 unarmed protesters. And not to bring race into it but let’s be real, had he been black or even Hispanic, he wouldn’t have even made it past police. Black testified that shortly after he got an AR-15 style rifle, Rittenhouse expressed interest in one. During a trip to Black's family's hunting property in May 2020, Black agreed to buy a rifle for Rittenhouse, who was 17 and couldn't lawfully buy or possess one.

Black used Rittenhouse's money to make the purchase.

Black said they discussed knowing it was illegal, but agreed Rittenhouse wouldn't get the gun himself until he turned 18.

Comments: Saturday Morning, and justice is only being served for those who are a whiter shade of pale. Last night the members of the Crew voiced our opinion on the subject, and unfortunately we need to start our day commenting on this Bulls#it once again.
Yesterday's verdict of not guilty is a travesty, and the scales of justice, that is supposed to symbolize the idea of the fair distribution of law, with no influence of bias, privilege or corruption, was thrown on the ground and stepped on.
Kyle Rittenhouse is now the poster boy for the Fascist Republican Party, the Alt-Right, and every White Supremacist organization. In The Crews opinion the verdict was sealed when the judge threw out all charges involving Rittenhouse having an AR-15, and transporting the weapon across state lines.
When the jury went into deliberation, it is hard for us Thinkers to believe that they truly listened to instructions in regards to the definition of self defense. They all have ears, but that doesn't mean they hear, or comprehend. When claiming self defense as the reason for killing someone, the defendant can not provoke the incident, when he or she does they loses the right to self-defense. You cannot claim self-defense against a danger you create.
To claim self-defense, the defendant must prove four elements. First, with exceptions, the defendant must prove that he or she was confronted with an unprovoked attack. Second, the defendant must prove that the threat of injury or death was imminent. Third, the defendant must prove that the degree of force used in self-defense was objectively reasonable under the circumstances. Fourth, the defendant must prove that he or she had an objectively reasonable fear that he or she was going to be injured or killed unless he or she used self-defense. The Model Penal Code defines self-defense in § 3.04(1) as “justifiable when the actor believes that such force is immediately necessary for the purpose of protecting himself against the use of unlawful force by such other person on the present occasion.”
In simple terms if Kyle wasn't in Kenosha with an AR-15 none of this would have occurred. The Crew also wants to know when will the mother be charged with transporting someone under age across state lines with an AR-15.

Rittenhouse is not a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities, he is nothing more than a white privileged lowlife sc#mbag.
This is what we face my friends, we are in a war with Sc#mbags. These are people with have the same judgement, characteristics and decision making as Donald Trump. They have surpassed the levels of Jerk, As@hole, Do@@he-bag and Motherfxxker. They wear baseball caps sideways, spout meaningless bulls@it at everyone. These individuals are the minority, yet they control the majority, and will eventually tear down our Democracy if we do not confront them.
MADISON CAWTHORN GLOATS ABOUT KYLE'S VERDICT
Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) was gleeful about Kyle Rittenhouse’s acquittal in two shooting deaths on Friday and posted a video on the subject that include him urging his supporters to “be armed, be dangerous.”
Cawthorn said those same people should also “be moral,” before becoming one of many right-wing Republicans to offer the 18-year-old Rittenhouse an internship.
“Kyle, if you want an internship, reach out to me,” read the caption on Cawthorn’s video.
On Wednesday, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) said that Rittenhouse, for some reason, would make a “pretty good congressional intern,” and that his office may reach out to the teen to gauge his interest.
Following Rittenhouse’s acquittal, Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) tweeted he would “arm wrestle” Gaetz to “get dibs for Kyle as an intern.” Gosar also asked his followers on Twitter if Rittenhouse should get a congressional medal of honor. The teen shot three people, two fatally, at protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin, that erupted following the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man.
TRUMP Jr. ENDORSES SENDING AR-15 TO RITTENHOUSE
Donald Trump Jr. responded to Kyle Rittenhouse’s acquittal by encouraging people to sign a card of support that will be sent to the teenager, alongside an AR-15 rifle.
Former President Donald Trump’s son amplified powerful gun lobbying group Gun Owners of America’s “award” for Rittenhouse to his 7.1 million Twitter followers on Friday night.
“Sign the card in support of Kyle,” Trump urged just hours after Rittenhouse, 18, was found not guilty on all charges relating to his shooting of three people, and killing of two, during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last year, when he was armed with an AR-style semiautomatic weapon.
“Americans have a fundamental right to defend themselves, and to keep and bear arms,” Trump added, copying the text on the GOA’s website. “The verdict in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial is a recognition of those rights.”
In earlier tweets reacting to the trial, Trump struck a gleeful tone similar to other right-wingerswhen he said the jury gave President Joe Biden “his second colonoscopy of the day.” He also attacked Vice President Kamala Harris and NBA star LeBron James
TUCKER HAS BEEN FILIMING DOCUMENTARY ON RITTENHOUSE
Newly acquitted shooter Kyle Rittenhouse declared with a smile in the backseat of a car in a clip on Fox News Friday night: “The jury reached the correct verdict. Self defense is not illegal.”
It’s “been a rough journey,” he added.
Host Tucker Carlson revealed that his “documentary” team was with Rittenhouse in Kenosha, Wisconsin, when he was acquitted of all charges earlier in the day of the shooting deaths of two unarmed men, and the wounding of another.
Carlson gleefully announced that “left wing propaganda was defeated” with the acquittal. Carlson also revealed that his team has been with Rittenhouse for days to create one of his “Tucker Carlson Originals.”
In another clip, Rittenhouse said: “It’s the stuff that keeps you up at night. Once you finally do get to sleep your dreams are about what happened, and you’re waking up in a dark, cold sweat.”
He told the Fox News team that he has dreams about the shootings “every single night.” He added: “It’s quite scary, actually, because the dreams feel so real ... and they’re all different, they’re the different scenarios that run through your head ... like what could have happened, like what if I wasn’t alive?”
PROUD BOYS AFTER KLYE'S VERDICT TIME 2 STACK BODIES UP
On Friday, NPR reported that extreme right groups are rejoicing at the acquittal of Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse — and are fantasizing about instigating more violence in their private channels.
"In one Telegram channel for the far-right Proud Boys, some noted they had taken the day off work to await the verdict," reported Odette Yousef. "'There's still a chance for this country,' wrote one. In another channel, a member stated that political violence must continue. 'The left wont stop until their bodie(s) get stacked up like cord wood,' he wrote."
As the report noted, "Rittenhouse himself is not known to be a member of an extremist group. But the trial, which from its beginning became a cause and rallying cry among conservatives who champion gun rights, has been particularly alarming to extremism researchers."
Rittenhouse successfully claimed self-defense after he crossed state lines to safeguard businesses with an AR-15 style rifle during the protests against the Jacob Blake police shooting, which led to confrontations that ended with him fatally shooting two people and injuring a third.
