I often see comments where people talk about clock radios as if they're some relic from the past. I find this to be strange, because clock radios are still made. I've woken up to a clock radio since elementary school. I remember my parents gave me one around the time I was in 3rd grade, and they told me it was time to start getting myself up for school rather than relying on my mom to wake me up. So I started setting my alarm to wake up to the radio every morning, and I still wake up to the radio every morning to this day. I don't really understand why anyone wants to wake up to any sound other than the radio. I find beeping or ringing alarms to be nerve-wracking, and I hate all sounds emanating from a smart phone. I will use the alarm on my smart phone if I'm traveling and need to set an alarm to wake up. But if I'm at home, I much prefer to wake up to the radio.
At the moment, my clock radio is tuned to The Bone. Yesterday I woke up to "Rock of Ages" by Def Leppard, and today I woke up to "Subdivisions" by Rush. Those are both songs I like and which remind me of high school, so they were pleasant songs to wake up to. I also have a memory from childhood of being woken up by "Suffragette City" by David Bowie - specifically, the line, "Wham, bam, thank you ma'am." I always think of that whenever I hear that song, even now.

I used a Traditional Alarm Clock with Two Bells... Like you would see in the Cartoons! Because I'm a heavy sleeper and I needed a REALLY LOUD ANNOYING SOUND to Wake Me Up... and I made Sure that the Damn Thing was Out of Reach so I Had to Get Up to Turn the Damn Thing Off... I would Just Sleep thru Music... and Have Wonderful dreams of Dancing with Women at a Concert...

I can sleep through music if it’s soft, but I can’t sleep through any LOUD noise. I’d personally rather wake up to loud music than a loud bell or other loud alarm sound.
