The Organizers had a Parade Permit to March from the White House to the Lincoln Memorial in the Streets of Washington DC... and That Parade Permit EXPIRED at 4 PM... anyone Still in the Street would be arrested... So... We all walked over to the Lincoln Memorial and MADE A DECISION... Should We Sit down in the middle of the Street and Get arrested OR Stand on the Side Walk NOT Get Arrested... The Police had Busses ready to take Protesters to Jail... and "Jack Booted Thugs" standing in the street facing the sidewalk... so Everyone Knew Exactly what the Choice was... Daniel Ellsberg and a Hundred other People Sat Down Right in the Middle of the Street BUT I DID NOT... I Chose to Remain on the Sidewalk... and NOT Get Arrested... I was High on LSD at that Time and I chose to NOT spend my Acid Trip in the DC Jail... One thing about LSD is it Amplifies Emotions... That Decision Seemed EPIC... 

I went to Many Anti-War Protests in Lafayette Park that week... and One time I Got to Play the Big Bass Drum in a Drum Circle... There was a Man who brought a Marching Band Bass Drum to the Protest but got tired of Holding it up while playing... so he asked me to take over so he could take a break... It took me a moment or two but eventually I got in the groove with all the other drummers and Banged it Really Loud! The Goal was to Remind George Bush The Father That We Were There and we were Protesting Against His War... and Disturbing His Sleep!

on another afternoon I played the drums with some Buddhist Monks... They Loaned me a Paddle Drum and taught he THEIR BEAT... It was a Very ODD and Complex Beat... I asked WHY and they said... You are required to FOCUS YOUR ATTENTION in order to Play this Beat, and Focus of Attention is The technique used by this Meditative Practice...

In 2002 they won the lawsuit (Bari had died of breast cancer in 1997). Cherney and the late Bari's estate were awarded $4.4 million, to be paid by the FBI and Oakland Police Department.^[4] The authorities allegedly did not investigate any other suspects. Discovery during the lawsuit revealed crime scene photos that clearly showed the bomb was located under Bari's seat, not in the back seat as investigators had alleged.^[1]

On June 11, 2002, a federal jury returned a stunning verdict in favor of Judi Bari and Darryl Cherney in their landmark civil rights lawsuit against four FBI agents and three Oakland Police officers. 

The jury unanimously found that six of the seven FBI and OPD defendants tried to frame Judi and Darryl in an effort to crush Earth First! and chill participation in Redwood Summer. That was evident in the fact that 80% of the $4.4 million total damage award was for violation of their First Amendment rights to speak out and organize politically in defense of the forests. 

"The jury exonerated us," said Darryl Cherney. "They found the FBI to be the ones in violation of the law. The American public needs to understand that the FBI can't be trusted. Ten jurors got a good, hard look at the FBI and they didn't like what they saw." 

"It's really beyond our wildest dreams," said Darlene Comingore, Judi Bari's friend and executor of her estate who stood in for her as co-plaintiff in this suit. "We hope the FBI and Oakland and all the police forces out there that think they can violate people's rights and get away with it are listening because the people of the state of California and Oakland today said, 'No, you can't. You can't get away with it.' "

Lead attorney Dennis Cunningham said the message he hopes the verdict sends is that: "Ashcroft is doing precisely the wrong thing to abandon the (Levi) guidelines and let the FBI go after dissent with a free hand. It's clear that their intention is not about fighting terrorism, it's about suppressing dissent. That's what the FBI has always been about. Hopefully it will make Congress think twice about giving them a free hand."

It really was Ironic to hear him USING THE MACHINE while recommending that we DESTROY THE MACHINE.

However, I Groked his message... If he stopped using the machine as an individual it would have no effect whatsoever on the coming destruction of civilization...

What may come next if this culture is left unchecked, to its end trajectory, and is that what we want? *Stare Into The Lights My Pretties* investigates these questions with an urge to return to the real physical world, to form a critical view of technological escalation driven by rapacious and pervasive corporate interest. Covering themes of addiction, privacy, surveillance, information manipulation, behavior modification and social control, the film lays the foundations as to why we may feel like we're sleep running into some dystopian nightmare with the machines at the helm. Because we are, if we don't seriously avert our eyes to stop this culture from destroying what is left of the real world.

Abbot Howard Hoffman (November 30, 1936 – April 12, 1989) was an American political and social activist, anarchist,^[1][2][3] a socialist, and revolutionary who co-founded the Youth International Party ("Yippies"). He was also a leading proponent of the Flower Power movement.

Hoffman was arrested and tried for conspiracy and inciting to riot as a result of his role in protests that led to violent confrontations with police during the 1968 Democratic National Convention, along with Jerry Rubin, David Dellinger, Tom Hayden, Rennie Davis, John Froines, Lee Weiner, and Bobby Seale. The group was known collectively as the "Chicago Eight"; when Seale's prosecution was separated from the others, they became known as the Chicago Seven. While the defendants were initially convicted of intent to incite a riot, the verdicts were overturned on appeal.

Hoffman continued his activism into the 1970s, and remains an icon of the anti-war movement and the counterculture era.^[4][5] He committed suicide by a phenobarbital overdose in 1989.

John Cunningham Lilly (January 6, 1915 – September 30, 2001) was an American physician, neuroscientist, psychoanalyst, psychonaut, philosopher, writer and inventor. He was a member of a generation of counterculture scientists and thinkers that included Ram Dass, Werner Erhard and Timothy Leary, all frequent visitors to the Lilly home. He often stirred controversy, especially among mainstream scientists.

Lilly conducted high-altitude research during World War II and later trained as a psychoanalyst. He gained renown in the 1950s after developing the isolation tank. He saw the tanks, in which users are isolated from almost all external stimuli, as a means to explore the nature of human consciousness. He later combined that work with his efforts to communicate with dolphins. He began studying how bottlenose dolphins vocalize, establishing centers in the U.S. Virgin Islands and, later, San Francisco to study dolphins. A decade later, he began experimenting with psychedelics, including LSD, often while floating in isolation.^[1] His work inspired two Hollywood movies, The Day of the Dolphin (1973) and Altered States (1980).
