Ban MY Book! Please! --->Banning Increases Sales<--- Here's a List of Truly Great Books... and Ten that NEED to Be Banned!

As Texas targets 'inappropriate' books, I say keep going: Here are 10 other books that should be immediately BANNED from all school libraries.
1. “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen. For starters, “pride” is a known LGBTQ term. And “prejudice” might make my white child feel guilt, which is an unacceptable emotion. So you want to expose my kid to both pride AND prejudice? I don’t think so!
2. “The Black Stallion” by Walter Farley. Clearly the liberals have found a way to sneak critical race theory into an otherwise decent story about a horse.
3. “The Brothers Karamazov” by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Nice try, commies.
4. “Invisible Man” by Ralph Ellison. Presumably another feminist attempt to silence American men. We will not tolerate such wokeness.
5. “It” by Stephen King. Oh, for Pete’s sake, the title is a darn pronoun. I see what you’re up to, Stephen King. We all know pronouns can lead young people to explore and eventually embrace their true identities. Not on my watch!
6. “The Sun Also Rises” by Ernest Hemingway. Sounds like some kind of climate change propaganda. Add it to the burn pile.
7. “Moby-Dick” by Herman Melville. This one’s self-explanatory.
8. “The Canterbury Tales” by Geoffrey Chaucer. Brimming with filth and perversion. Also promotes the acceptance of iambic pentameter, better known as “Satan’s rhyming pattern.”
9. “The Count of Monte Cristo” by Alexandre Dumas. Sounds both foreign and vaguely gay.
10. “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury. A dystopian tale of a future America in which books have been outlawed and are rounded up and burned by “firemen” who enforce the laws and … on second thought, let’s keep this one.

Great Book: "Stranger in a Strange Land" by Robert Heinlein. He invented the word GROK. Which means to understand in a extremely deep level. Like the feeling you get reading Haiku on LSD.

Please Let Your Elected Officials Know That WE Have Had Enough of the Madness!

Fire Tending Meditation: A Way to Focus Attention. When at the Rainbow Gathering in Utah 2014 I was given the opportunity. Here is what happened... READ MORE:

While at the Welcome Home Kitchen, the Fire Tender wanted to go to another kitchen and trade a cooler filled with coffee for pizza. He asked if someone would watch the fire while he was gone. SOMEONE had to be there... I volunteered. I Said "I'll be here. I'll be the responsible adult. I can do that, I have done that."

he said "Great" and Left with the cooler filled with coffee.

So I took over and made sure we didn't burn down the forest. I also collected wood, placed it carefully on the fire arranging the logs so that they would burn without causing a lot of smoke AND I invited arriving people to help themselves to a cup of coffee or clean drinking water... and to take a break and relax around the fire.

This is a classic way to focus attention as the placement of logs on the fire is very similar to Zen Gardening with sand...

So, during this time... I asked for a Really Big Idea... I had attended Rainbow Gatherings before and I wanted each visit to be different. It's pointless and boring to keep on repeating experiences... so, this time I wanted to get a really big Idea...

and here it is: A Solar Fire powered Desalinization Machine. Use a driftwood fire to power a steam engine. Use the force from the steam engine to drive a water pump. Pump seawater thru a pipe in the fire and into a long black pipe with a reflector that focuses sunlight on the pipe. When the water boils, it expands in volume... at the end of the pipe, steam will be billowing out with a great deal of force. Use that force to drive an electricity generating turbine. Collect the steam and let it turn back into a liquid... The result is Pure H20, NaCl and Electricity... all valuable and sell able.

Clean safe drinking water is a big problem. We could use the collected steam for drinking, bathing, livestock, gardens... AND making Ice for a really great Scotch on the Rocks.

To make this practical, the location of the machine would need to be near a big pile of driftwood. On Agate Beach in California, I have seen a pile of driftwood that covers the entire beach for about a half a mile... In other locations, use whatever resource is available. For Example: In Saudi Arabia it would make more sense to burn oil or gas...

So, during my meditation I Got my really big idea... Or So I Thought... However... Just By Magical Action of the Universe... It Turns Out The THIS WAS NOT THE REALLY BIG IDEA... It Just So Happened that I MET A WOMAN who was teaching a Spiritual Healing Guided Meditation Class... and I Did It... and I Liked It... and I Took Her Business Card... and I've Been Attending Her Online Seminars For Years! Sonya Sophia... https://www.worldtappingcircle.com/

Later, the fire tender returned and his mission to get pizza was successful.

Much later I was sitting by the fire and another Rainbow Gatherer approached... He said mockingly: "Have you been sitting in that same spot for two days?" Which was true, I did spend a couple of days at the Welcome Home Tent.

I replied: "No, I also worked as the fire tender... That gave me an opportunity to Focus My Attention... [said slowly] Focus... My... Attention... "

The fire tender was listening and he nodded with understanding... Later we ended up hanging out together and he was a fine fellow... He was also very interested in being in the Cleanup Crew... I assume he got paid a lot in valuable stuff left behind.

Long ago I was playing the drums with some Buddhists at an anti-war protest march... I asked them why we were playing such an odd rhythm... They said that it requires that you Focus Your Attention... It's true... That experience was quite different than bang out a 4/4 on the big bass drum... I also did that at the same protest, our goal was to get George Bush the Father to remember that we didn't LIKE his war... and there were people playing the drums 24 hours a day in Lafayette Park to remind him... His only choices were to listen or flee...

Just like we all learned by Reading "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" by Robert Pirsig... The Trick to Life is to PAY ATTENTION... NOTICE REALITY...

So, Every Day I Test my Blood Sugar and BY PAYING ATTENTION and Keeping a Sugar Free Diet... I Have Prevented Diabetes... I find that Quitting Smoking Tobacco AND Cannabis... Has Given me Better Lungs and a Clearer Mind. Weed is Useful for APPRECIATING Music, Art, Food... but  I Get More DONE Without Weed... More Music Videos, More ART, More Fiction Stories... Hey, Just because They Legalized Weed does not mean that I Have to Actually Smoke it... UNLESS I'M GOING TO A ROCK CONCERT... or some other Event that I Am Observing others Creating... I find that Playing the Piano Stoned is EPIC to me... but the Actual Videos that i Recorded Stoned are Not That Great... I have difficulty selecting which notes to play and When... Even on songs I wrote... It's Like My Brain is having trouble with the LOOKUP NEXT NOTE Function... Everybody Says You Really SWING when playing Stoned but that doesn't happen to me...

How I Quit Smoking Tobacco: When my Brother Got Lung Cancer I Became frightened. Cancer Runs in Families and If HE Got It, I'm Likely to Get it Too. SO... I used Fear to Quit. I experienced Pain for about a Month from the Withdrawal Symptoms... I did not use any Medicine... Frankly speaking, That New Medicine has MANY, MANY, MANY side effects... and Nicotine Gum and The Patch Causes Madness in Me... Paranoia... It Shortenes my Anger Fuse... As if I was "Channeling My Inner Chewbacca."  SO... I Just Experienced the Pain and USED That Memory to Prevent a Relapse... I still WISH I Could Smoke But... Then I Remember HOW MUCH Pain Drug Addiction Causes...

Great Books: "The Tao of Pooh" by Benjamin Hoff and "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values" by Robert Pirsig

https://www.amazon.com/Tao-Pooh-Benjamin-Hoff/dp/0140067477

The how of Pooh? The Tao of who? The Tao of Pooh!?! In which it is revealed that one of the world's great Taoist masters isn't Chinese--or a venerable philosopher--but is in fact none other than that effortlessly calm, still, reflective bear. A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh! While Eeyore frets, and Piglet hesitates, and Rabbit calculates, and Owl pontificates, Pooh just is.

And that's a clue to the secret wisdom of the Taoist

One of the most important and influential books written in the past half-century, Robert M. Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is a powerful, moving, and penetrating examination of how we live . . . and a breathtaking meditation on how to live better. Here is the book that transformed a generation: an unforgettable narration of a summer motorcycle trip across America's Northwest, undertaken by a father and his young son. A story of love and fear -- of growth, discovery, and acceptance -- that becomes a profound personal and philosophical odyssey into life's fundamental questions, this uniquely exhilarating modern classic is both touching and transcendent, resonant with the myriad confusions of existence . . . and the small, essential triumphs that propel us forward.

Great Books: "Siddhartha" by Herman Hesse (History of The Buddha)... and... "The Celestine Prophecy" by James Redfield

Pay Attention to Odd Coincidences... it's the Universe Trying to Send you a Message...

In the rain forests of Peru, an ancient manuscript has been discovered. Within its pages are 9 key insights into life itself -- insights each human being is predicted to grasp sequentially; one insight, then another, as we move toward a completely spiritual culture on Earth. Drawing on ancient wisdom, it tells you how to make connections among the events happening in your life right now and lets you see what is going to happen to you in the years to come. The story it tells is a gripping one of adventure and discovery, but it is also a guidebook that has the power to crystallize your perceptions of why you are where you are in life and to direct your steps with a new energy and optimism as you head into tomorrow.

Great Book: "The Empty Mirror: Experiences in a Japanese Zen Monastery" by Janwillem van de Wetering, a Detective Fiction Writer of "Outsider in Amsterdam"

https://www.amazon.com/Empty-Mirror-Experiences-Japanese-Monastery/dp/0312207743/

Seen by many as a contemporary classic, Janwillem van de Wetering's small and admirable memoir records the experiences of a young Dutch student―later a widely celebrated mystery writer―who spent a year and a half as a novice monk in a Japanese Zen Buddhist monastery.

It is the first book in a trilogy that continues with A Glimpse of Nothingness and Afterzen.

https://www.amazon.com/Outsider-Amsterdam-Cops-Janwillem-Wetering/dp/1616953004/

On a quiet street in downtown Amsterdam, a man is found hanging from the ceiling beam of his bedroom, upstairs from the new religious society he founded: a group that calls itself “Hindist” and supposedly mixes elements of various Eastern traditions. Detective-Adjutant Gripstra and Sergeant de Gier of the Amsterdam police are sent to investigate what looks like a simple suicide, but they are immediately suspicious of the circumstances.

This now-classic novel, first published in 1975, introduces Janwillem van de Wetering’s lovable Amsterdam cop duo of portly, wise Gripstra and handsome, contemplative de Gier. With its unvarnished depiction of the legacy of Dutch colonialism and the darker facets of Amsterdam’s free drug culture, this excellent procedural asks the question of whether a murder may ever be justly committed.
