I Oppose shipping Water from the Trinity River to Los Angeles. - (Part of the Delta Tunnel Project) Why Not use Solar Power to Desalinate Seawater?

As hard as it to believe, there is a plan to use pipes to move freshwater from the Trinity Alps near Redding, California and provide drinking water to LA...

The problem with that is SALMON need that water to spawn in. The Trinity merges with Oregon's Klamath river and flows to the sea. Fishermen from around the world travel to the Klamath to go Fly-Fishing. There is a large business providing motel rooms, food and river guides to the tourists.

An alternative would be to Desalinate the ocean water near San Diego. A Solar system could boil the water and produce pure H2O, Salt and Electricity... Everybody Wins!
