It seems to me that driving can be a meditation awareness tool. Today I was really focused on the sound of the engine, alignment of the wheels and gear changing. Before I left I checked the oil and added a quart. So I was listening for the valve chirping I heard last week. I also put air in all 4 tires so I was paying attention to the steering and if the van tended to drive to the right... or the left...
AND I was staying on the road, avoiding head on collisions with the logging trucks and watching for unexpected slowdowns. Three times there were One Lane Roads with a flagman and a lead car... Not only do I have to stop in time but all those people behind me had to also.

So, I believe that driving can be used as an Idea Factory.

I'm not alone in this belief. Robert Pirsig wrote
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zen_and_the_Art_of_Motorcycle_Maintenance about this.

and Bob Seger sang "your mind goes wandering when you're riding sixteen hours and there's nothing else to do" in the song "Turn the Page"...

American History: The Humboldt County Timber Wars... A Hostile Takeover of Pacific Lumber Company and The Extreme Logging of Old Growth Redwoods in Northern California. MAXXAM SUXX

In 1985 Charles Hurwitz borrowed money (Junk Bonds) from Michael Milken and bought the company Pacific Lumber, located near Eureka, California. Then Hurwitz increased the rate of logging in the Redwood Forest and cut down all the highly profitable trees. Then he split his corporation MAXXAM into two divisions. One division was used to do actual logging and sawing of boards and the other division was used to hide the profits. When the bill came due on the Junk Bonds, Hurwitz declared bankruptcy and took the money back to Texas. Including the pension funds that paid retirement benefits for employees...

Then the Pacific Lumber Company was purchased at a foreclosure sale by The Fisher Family. They had made a fortune selling clothes at a chain of stores called "The Gap". They reintroduced the business plan called "sustainable logging" where the Lumberjacks would only cut down as many trees as grew during the year. This plan was invented by the original owner of Pacific Lumber, Simon J. Murphy... The concept was to cut 1% of the forest every year and plant new trees so that in a hundred years the new trees would have grown big enough to harvest. Read More At:

Headline: Trump pardons junk bond king Michael Milken.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he was granting clemency to Michael Milken, the legendary bond king from the 1980s who served several years in prison for violating securities laws and has since become a prominent philanthropist.

Trump made the announcement to reporters Tuesday, along with the news that he was commuting the sentence of former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich and pardoning ex-NYPD commissioner Bernard Kerik.
Milken rose to prominence on Wall Street in the 1980s as the head of the high-yield bond department, also known as junk bonds, at the now defunct firm Drexel Burnham Lambert.
But Milken got tied up in an insider trading scheme and eventually pleaded guilty to several counts of securities violations tied to a scandal with former stock trader Ivan Boesky.

How California’s last remaining nuclear power plant transformed marine life off the coast...

Take a dip into the Pacific Ocean along most of California’s Central Coast, and the cold water will send you running for a wetsuit. But there’s one spot where the water isn’t so teeth-chattering and instead feels much like a lukewarm bath: Diablo Cove, the oblong 40-acre inlet that sits at the base of PG&E’s Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant near Avila Beach. There, the ocean waters are heated by the power plant’s cooling system, which sucks in and spits out billions of gallons of seawater every day.

Water in the cove directly adjacent to the discharge structure hovers at an abnormal 70 to 80 degrees — notably warmer than the 50 to 60 degrees typical here.

Cal Poly Humboldt: I See Many Paid Posts on FaceBORG... Part of the Millions the School got is being used to Publish SPAM... To Sell the Idea that Changing the Name is a Good Idea!

SC Said: How are you going to deal with the housing shortage and the rent and home price hike that has LITERALLY put residents out on the streets? What’s your answer to that?

JM Replied: this is exactly why I was concerned about the polytechnic change. We all saw it coming. The housing market was going to price gouge us out.

CL Said: the school doesn’t really care about that, they just want to increase the freshman enrollment from the decrease the past couple years

and I Said: Glad I went there in 2001 - 2005. Even then I couldn't find a Place to Live in Arcata. So I lived in the Cutten district of Eureka... and NOW I see that the McKay Ranch Housing Project in Cutten has been approved... The problem the developer was having was... NO DEMAND for more Homes... Well, There will be a demand NOW! https://lostcoastoutpost.com/2021/oct/18/mckay-ranch-subdivision-county-recirculating-envir/

and I Replied: SOME people are Listening... Because... I post my opinions on 13 different social media platforms... and often QuackAnon FREAKS Say I'm Wrong... So Someone is Listening... Or READING...
