1. Drive Cars Less... Move WORK closer to HOME so Your Daily Commute is Shorter... Relocate "The Office" to abandoned Retail Stores in The Mall.

2. Use the Air Conditioner Less... That Electricity Comes from SOMEWHERE and at Least Half Comes from Coal, Gas or Atomic Power Plants.

3. Grow Your Marijuana Plants Outdoors in the Free Sunshine instead of Using GRO Lights.

4. Grow a Victory Garden to reduce shipping costs of food... gasoline burned bringing food to market. buy local farmers market food.

#1 international and New York Times bestselling author Naomi Klein, author of The Shock Doctrine and This Changes Everything, makes the case for a Green New Deal—explaining how bold climate action can be a blueprint for a just and thriving society.

For more than twenty years, Naomi Klein has been the foremost chronicler of the economic war waged on both people and planet—and an unapologetic champion of a sweeping environmental agenda with justice at its center. In lucid, elegant dispatches from the frontlines of contemporary natural disaster, she pens surging, indispensable essays for a wide public: prescient advisories and dire warnings of what future awaits us if we refuse to act, as well as hopeful glimpses of a far better future. On Fire: The (Burning) Case for a Green New Deal gathers for the first time more than a decade of her impassioned writing, and pairs it with new material on the staggeringly high stakes of our immediate political and economic choices.

These long-form essays show Klein at her most prophetic and philosophical, investigating the climate crisis not only as a profound political challenge but as a spiritual and imaginative one, as well. Delving into topics ranging from the clash between ecological time and our culture of “perpetual now,” to the soaring history of humans changing and evolving rapidly in the face of grave threats, to rising white supremacy and fortressed borders as a form of “climate barbarism,” this is a rousing call to action for a planet on the brink.

With reports spanning from the ghostly Great Barrier Reef, to the annual smoke-choked skies of the Pacific Northwest, to post-hurricane Puerto Rico, to a Vatican attempting an unprecedented “ecological conversion,” Klein makes the case that we will rise to the existential challenge of climate change only if we are willing to transform the systems that produced this crisis.

An expansive, far-ranging exploration that sees the battle for a greener world as indistinguishable from the fight for our lives, On Fire captures the burning urgency of the climate crisis, as well as the fiery energy of a rising political movement demanding a catalytic Green New Deal.

As Greta Thunberg said, “This is a crisis. We have to act like our house is on fire, because it is.” She’s right, just like the young people from Standing Rock, the kids on the islands disappearing under the Pacific and in Houston and Flint and Kern County and so many other places. They’re all right. This is an urgent, major crisis. And they’re asking our help. That’s why Jane Fonda has moved to Washington, DC. Every Friday for the next 4 months at 11 am ET in front of the US Capitol, Jane will be joined by scientists, movement leaders, experts, activists, Indigenous leaders, and community members to answer the alarm sounded by young people and demand that action by our political leaders be taken to address the climate emergency. Naomi Klein says... There are MANY Green New Deals... What IF We took Science and Justice Seriously. We can Build a Much Larger Base of people who support a GREEN New Deal if we also include subjects that are NOT Crucial to Comfortable White People. Many Ecology People Have Enough Money, Good Jobs, Nice Houses and Nice Cars, College for their Children ETC... If we include Raising the Minimum Wage, Freeing Black Prisoners, Gun Control, Keep Abortion Legal and Equal Pay for Women... we would have a bigger group. Capitalism is NOT Working for Most People - 99%

Matt Nelson, Executive Director, Presente.org  - Climate Change Causes Disaster in Central America and Starvation due to Drought - Migration. We are Likely to see Hundreds of Millions of People Walking North. Latinos will refuse to do jobs that kill us - RoundUP poisoning of Farm Workers. He was Born in Columbia- raised in Minnesota. Take back the money from the "Gangster Economy" ... Why not simply have Oil Companies buy stock in Solar/Wind Corporations. That way the can remain wealthy but change their FOCUS of their Corporations... BioFuel... Green Slime for Fuel. BP=Beyond Petroleum...

Abdul el Sayeed - Ran for Governor of Michigan. A Green New Deal in Detroit... Nurses are moving towards Medicare for All. Layoffs at GM. Asthma is Three times more likely in Detroit - Carbon Emitting Petroleum Refinery - EPA ruled them OK. No Public Transit in Detroit. We are building our infrastructure wrong post WW2... All about CARS - ( For Example: public trains/trolleys removed from Los Angeles.) The Way of Life is Crumbling... Corporate Subsidies for GM... and all Fossil Fuel Corporations. Financing our War Machine - Selling Weapons to Saudi Arabia is a Jobs Program for Ohio where they Make the Tanks.

Dr. Stephanie Kelton - Professor at Stony Brook University. Economic Policy. How are we going to pay for it all? How did we finance the NEW DEAL of the Great Depression? Government went off the Gold Standard. - Fake Money - Free Ourselves from Monetary Policy that Required Actual Gold Backing Up The Dollar. Maybe BitCoin? Priorities Out Of Whack! The US Government can simply Create More Money "Magically" to pay for a Green New Deal. What is holding us back is lack of votes... not lack of money... American Oligarchs believe they can protect themselfs from Climate Change. Raise the Taxes on the Super Rich. Cut Defense Spending in Half. Global Warming doesn't seem like a crisis when YOU OWN AN AIR CONDITIONER... and you can simply stay indoors during the afternoon heat.

“This is one attempt to uncover how we got to this surreal political moment. It is also an attempt to predict how, under cover of shocks and crises, it could get a lot worse. And it’s a plan for how, if we keep our heads, we might just be able to flip the script and arrive at a radically better future.”
–From the Introduction
Donald Trump’s takeover of the White House is a dangerous escalation in a world of cascading crises. His reckless agenda—including a corporate coup in government, aggressive scapegoating and warmongering, and sweeping aside climate science to set off a fossil fuel frenzy—will generate waves of disasters and shocks to the economy, national security, and the environment.
Acclaimed journalist, activist, and bestselling author Naomi Klein has spent two decades studying political shocks, climate change, and “brand bullies.” From this unique perspective, she argues that Trump is not an aberration but a logical extension of the worst, most dangerous trends of the past half-century—the very conditions that have unleashed a rising tide of white nationalism the world over. It is not enough, she tells us, to merely resist, to say “no.” Our historical moment demands more: a credible and inspiring “yes,” a roadmap to reclaiming the populist ground from those who would divide us—one that sets a bold course for winning the fair and caring world we want and need.
