Clearcut Nation - the Movie
'Clearcut Nation' illuminates the decades of destructive logging practices which have been approved in the watersheds and forests of California--the watersheds that support all of the life in the state. It focuses on the Battle Creek watershed in Shasta and Tehama counties as an example, but overall is about how we treat, and relate to, the natural world. It includes interviews with author Derrick Jensen, botanist Julie Kierstead Nelson, PhD fire and vegetation ecologist Dennis Odion, PhD hydrologist Tom Myers, wildlife biologist Monica Bond, and rural residents who have experienced the vast changes to the land. This film is based on 8 years of research and field work, as well as decades of life experience in the wild lands of California.

My dad told me the most interesting story, and I thought I'd share.
There used to be a world famous violinist named Yehudi Menuhin, and at one point in time, he lived in Los Gatos. He spent a lot of time on tour, and he would ship his own personal Steinway piano all over the world to be played by his accompanist in his concerts. After the tour, the piano would be shipped back to Los Gatos. He had the phone number which was later acquired by my family in the 1960's, before my time. My dad said that every once in a while, someone would call and ask, "Where do you want us to deliver the piano?"
To this day, my parents still have that same phone number.

Many people have their piano shipped from one concert to the next at GREAT EXPENSE - You have to hire a Person to tune it... That's a Full time Job if You're on the road with a Famous Band... All that moving and temperature changes put the instrument out of tune... SO...
