Korean Dog News: They Have decided to Stop Eating Dogs... Headline: No more breeding and stealing dogs for meat in South Korea! Animal welfare campaigners hail decision as ‘historic victory’ after years of pressure at home and abroad...

I Eat Meat. Every Day... and If I Was Served Dog, I would eat it.... But here in the USA We don't do that... perhaps because we have the option of not eating dog... Maybe in Korea they face Severe hunger... and eating Dog is a Solution... I voluntarily choose to eat Cows, Pigs, deer, chickens and turkey... and every type of fish... but we don't eat dogs, horses, cats or pretty small birds... and we do not eat humans... how these cultural norms are decided I do not know... and what they do in Korea... is their own business...not mine...

Obituary for a Good Dog in California: LM Said:
Fare-thee-well to Millie the Hound Dog. She was 15, our most long lived canine companion. Came to us as a three year old escape artist from Red Bluff. She continued her wandering ways in Manton and could clear a standard four foot field fence like a blue ribbon high jumper. Also sailed through the air at head height to snag tennis balls. The girl could fly. Eventually she realized she was living in doggy paradise and stopped running away.
She was a pure bred Blue Tick Coon Hound without a lot of the usual speckles or barking. A quiet hound who was good with people, but particular about other dogs. The first time she met the dynamic duo of Artie and Danny (lab crosses who were about her age) she tried to crawl over Liz in the car to attack them. It didn't take her long to figure out they were more useful as her soldiers than enemies. The three of them made up our Best Pack Ever for several years.
Millie was one of the healthiest dogs we've known, rarely needing any vet care beyond annual shots. She aged gracefully, slowing down but always moving - that's a clue, humans. She went on the twice a day field walk every day until last month. At the end she could still climb stairs, eat a full meal, let us know she needed to go outside, and even bark warnings at the new girl Lucky, who quickly learned that Grandma Millie meant business. She was low maintenance, high energy, and a lot of bluster. She tolerated cats, but let them know she wasn't their buddy. She looked like a baby dragon with velociraptor feet when she coiled up to sleep and was stingy with her soft kisses. She could be aloof, but she loved her pack and made us laugh with all her seriousness. We miss you already Sweet Millie. Run, Jump, Fly Good Girl! We'll see you on the Other Side.

I'm in a lot of Gen X groups, and I generally like the content, but it gets so tiring the way people constantly call each other "boomer" as an insult, or say things like "This post has boomer energy" or "This post has boomer vibes." I'm talking practically EVERY post. No matter what it is, usually the very first comment has the word "boomer" in it. I've even been called a "boomer" in some of the Gen X groups, simply for agreeing with a post.
Some of the so-called "boomer" posts are memes which reminisce about the past, and they sometimes say things like, "Those were the best times" or "We grew up in the best times" or "We had the best cars, the best music, etc." For some reason, those types of sentiments have "boomer energy." I realize that every generation probably feels the same way. You reach a certain age, and you look back on your past, and there are certain things which suddenly seem really special. It doesn't matter if you're a boomer or Gen X or a Millennial or Gen Z, when you reach a certain age, you will most likely feel that way about the music, fashions, and cars that were popular when you were young.
So why the endless, ENDLESS references to the boomers? These are Gen X groups. Gen X people are sharing those memes. Millennials are probably sharing similar memes in their groups. Why is there so much focus on the boomers? It's getting really old. People can't help when they were born. The boomers can't help the fact that they're boomers any more than I can help the fact that I'm Gen X. And the older I get, the more I look back on my childhood, teen, and young adult years with nostalgia and a certain sense of wishing certain things were still the way they were then. This is not something only the boomers feel, it's universal.
I hope there comes a day in the not-too-distant future when people tire of using the word "boomer" as an insult.

anti-boomer meme - gen XYZ

JB Said:
Those who love to bash “boomers” are also willingly overlooking the fact that the “boomers” are responsible for things like the EPA and Roe v Wade.

SE Replied:
I've always been fascinated with the things boomers got to experience when they were young. I often wished I'd been born earlier so I could have experienced the Summer of Love and Woodstock. But like I said in my post, nobody chooses when they are born. My generation had cool things too. Every generation does. But the boomers had some REALLY cool stuff in their time.

CW Said:
It irritates me too. Not because I'm a boomer (I am) but because it's so bloody unoriginal! It's like the "Karen" thing... People are, seemingly, incapable of producing new tropes or even insults beyond every decade or so. So they trot out "boomer" or "Karen" and enjoy the frisson of thinking they've needled someone to the core... When in fact they're just flagging themselves up as part of the slack-jawed, stumbling herd.

AK Said:
It's a bit odd that Gen X would be making fun of baby boomers. Usually the people that say Boomer are millennials (people who turn 18 around the year 2000) or what they call Gen z (Born after 2000). The whole generation thing is dumb. The reason we were called Gen X is because WW2 arrow was the greatest generation, and then baby boomer generation was after that until 1964. People born from 1965 to 1980 or Gen X and were called that because we were supposed to be the lost generation or the ge
neration without a title. And people misunderstood what that meant, and names the next people Gen y and then Gen z. So people like that calling people Boomer and making fun of them is just another way of showing how clueless they are. Who cares what age somebody is

and I Said:
as if the insults by a Gen XYZ have any Importance...

One thing We had the opportunity to do as Boomers... Taking LSD at a Grateful Dead Concert... That was a priceless Experience...

and SE aid:
I knew a LOT of deadheads in the late 80s and early 90s. These were people my age, so definitely Gen X. There was plenty of LSD at Dead shows then, too. Definitely not just a boomer thing. I worked with Deadheads back in those days. They were awful to work with because they missed a lot of work due to the fact that they were stuck in some far-off place following the Dead. So people like me had to pick up their slack.

and I Replied:
I guess you are right... I wasn't paying attention to the age of the other people... they WERE much younger than me... but I didn't care... we Were all family...

What Orwell feared were those who would ban books. What Huxley feared was that there would be no reason to ban a book, for there would be no one who wanted to read one. Orwell feared those who would deprive us of information. Huxley feared those who would give us so much that we would be reduced to passivity and egoism. Orwell feared that the truth would be concealed from us. Huxley feared the truth would be drowned in a sea of irrelevance. Orwell feared we would become a captive culture. Huxley feared we would become a trivial culture, preoccupied with some equivalent of the feelies, the orgy porgy, and the centrifugal bumblepuppy.
As Huxley remarked in Brave New World Revisited, the civil libertarians and rationalists who are ever on the alert to oppose tyranny "failed to take into account man's almost infinite appetite for distractions."
"In 1984", Huxley added, "people are controlled by inflicting pain. In Brave New World, they are controlled by inflicting pleasure."
In short, Orwell feared that what we hate will ruin us. Huxley feared that what we love will ruin us. ~Neil Postman

I Interviewed a Korean War Veteran for my Book "America's Bogus Wars" and asked: What was the Korean War All About? Why were we There? and he said...

"I have NO IDEA... and I was there for Two Years. If you Find Out, tell me." So, I did a little research online and... I found out!

After the Japanese Surrendered in 1945, there was a Power Vacuum all over Asia. The Japanese HAD conquered Many Asian Countries and then, when they were defeated... NO ONE was in charge of those countries. Many "National Freedom Movements" happened where the People of the conquered countries tried to seize power to control their own destiny...

In Korea, The Soviet Union occupied the North and the USA occupied the South. On 25 June 1950, the North Koreans launched a Surprise Attack... beating the South Koreans and the US Army all the way back to the south-eastern tip of the peninsula... General Douglas MacArthur Beat the North Koreans back BUT a Wave of  of Chinese ‘volunteers’ halted the advancing allies and forced them back to the 38th parallel.

and we have had a Border with a DMZ there ever since...

SO, What were we doing there at all?  Fighting the Commies!
After WW2, The USA and The USSR was dividing up the world and we were just Grabbing Power... Like in Germany, with West Berlin and East Berlin... and a WALL between them.

Remember, this was 1950 and the USA was experiencing a Bizarro World RED SCARE! Congress had Un-American Activities Hearing lead by Senator Joe McCarthy... Of the Famous McCarthyism... Where, in a PANIC, they sought to Run the REDS out of Hollywood, and Arrest Folksingers. After all, They were Leading America's Youth ASTRAY... and CAUSING BEATNIKS!

This lead to the Creation of the John Birch Society... and Young Americans for Freedom...

Isn't Overpopulation one of our greatest Problems? We did Genocide in Iraq using Depleted Uranium Bullets... Nobel Peace Prize for Trump? Yes, he has taken action that ended the war between North and South Korea.

It appears that the talks with "little rocket man" will happen right before the elections of 2018. Trump's technique worked. Boosting the Republicans victories in House and Senate Races. Unless the Democrats magically come up with some strategy that makes them look good, we are doomed to have a Republicrime controlled government for years. Last night's White House Correspondents Dinner did not go well. They had a comedian that was not funny. Maybe they would have had a better speech if they had a white male telling the jokes... The woman just seemed mean.

Trump made a campaign speech in Michigan and said many quotable sound bites. He says that the Democrats are in favor of Open Borders and Higher Taxes. The Democrats do not have any obvious answer to that... What are we in favor of? I don't know... Medicare for all?

Trump's anti-immigrant policy makes sense. We simply do not benefit from having non-English speaking people move here. While some people call it racist (and therefore not a good idea), it is popular with the majority of Americans. In Sacramento, CA we have had thousands of Syrians migrate here. What could they possibly do for a living? We already have an excess of below average intellegence workers filling low skill jobs... What we ought to do is end all these CrazyWars. If we did not blow up Syria, we wouldn't be getting Syrian Refugees. They could live in their "shithole" countries and do whatever they do there... No one has really answered Trump's Question. "Why do we allow people from shithole countries to immigrate here?"

If we stopped blowing up countries in the middle east we could save a lot of money wasted on war. We could cut the pentagon's budget in half and use the money for something useful. OR... refund it to the taxpayers.

The Mainstream Media News is selling FEAR again... This time it's North Korea. I do not support a brand new pointless war there...

We were fooled into believing there was a need for a pointless war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Nicaragua, Panama and Vietnam... How many times can they fool us?
To Quote George Bush...
"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... ... Won't Get Fooled Again!"

For those you you that do not know the cultural "In Joke". A Rock band called "The Who" had a hit record called "We Won't Get Fooled Again"... When Bush was making the speech, he could not bring himself to complete the famous saying accurately by stating "Shame on Me"... so his baby boomer brain switched to a rock music lyric...

When Michael Moore was accepting his Oscar for the film Fahrenheit 911, he stated the quote correctly...
"Shame on YOU, Mr President, Shame on YOU."

Sadly, those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it while those of us that do, watch them shoot themselves in the foot again and again and again...

I just finished Two Bob Woodward Books. "Bush at War" and "Plan of Attack" documenting the first few years of the Bush Presidency. I totally recommend these books as he takes us inside the White House for in depth interviews with everyone of significance... He spent many hours in person with Bush, Cheney, Rice, Franks, Rumsfeld and Tenet.

One thing I learned is that Dick Cheney was planning to invade Iraq in 1999... He felt that his job a Secretary of Defense under Bush the father was not completed as Saddam Hussein was not removed from power during Gulf War #1.

The Who "Won't Get Fooled Again" from the record...

Casualties of American Soldiers reduced dramatically during my lifetime. War is simply not fashionable anymore.

When the US Government tells you to go fight pointless wars, Decline. Be Disobedient, It Might Save Your Life.

Since 1975 war has changed... many wars, few Americans Die...
Now with DRONES... we can commit genocide from an office in the USA.

Here is a Revelation told to me by a Vietnam Veteran friend. It was not his fault that his men died in combat. It was JFK and LBJ that put them in harm's way. If we had not gone halfway around the world to fight someone else's civil war, those men would be alive. This understanding helped with my friend's PTSD.

One thing I learned from the book "Will" by Gordon Liddy. He states that we could have won the Vietnam War if we had simply ATTEMPTED to win. Gordon was shy about stating exactly what it would mean to Attempted to win but... I believe what he was hinting at was... an Atomic Bomb on Hanoi... we had the technology and we knew exactly what worked... Hiroshima and Nagasaki... but we did not actually try to win. Many believe that the Vietnam War was really the USA vs China... and the Vietnamese may not have surrendered after Nuking Hanoi... so If we REALLY wanted to win we would have also had to Nuke Beijing. However, the Mission was to sell a lot of weapons to the pentagon. Corporate Profit. Monsanto and Dow Chemical sold a lot of Agent Orange... and Hughes Aircraft sold Helicopters... as he sang... "There's plenty good money to be made, supplying the Army with the Tools of the Trade" - Country Joe McDonald.

I'm Reading a sequel to 'Ender's Game' by Orson Scott Card. This book is Great! 'Ender in Exile' ... Two (2) predictions of his that came true already.
1. We would Fight War by Remote Control... like a Video Game... like DRONES... 2. Ender's brother and sister publish thoughtful essays on the 'net' as 'Locke' and 'Demosthenes' and influence public opinion and therefore political policy... kinda like Huffington Post, anonymous, online Cannabis Activists or Cop Block... self appointed sages online... Me too...

"Never has so much Military, Economic and Diplomatic Power been Used so ineffectively as in Vietnam. If after all of this time and all of this sacrifice and all of this support there is still no end in sight, then I say the time has come for the American People to turn to new leadership, not tied to the policies and mistakes of the past. I pledge to you we will have an honorable end to the War in Vietnam." - Richard Nixon Television Advertisement

We have to thank President Nixon for ending the Vietnam War. He Campaigned on Ending the war and KEPT HIS PROMISE!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PL9D950B20FD5725CC&v=W3KoYveOmiQ

Nixon's Idea was Vietnamization of the War. Simply put, Let those people over there fight their own civil war... It's really none of our business.

Our DNA is evolving every generation... Not Just Physically but also Spiritually... By studying the mistakes my parents and grandparents made, I can recognise them and not repeat them... And this is not just me...
Everyone Worldwide is Moving Forward to a Bright Future...

Think Back to The Dark Days of the Past...
My Uncle, A Korean War Veteran Said: "In My Day, When the Government Told You to Go to War, You Just Went." Well, those Days are Gone. Since Vietnam, No One is Told to Go Fight Wars Anywhere... It's All Volunteers...

Once Upon a time, "The Numbers Games" were Illegal Gambling...
And The Mafia ran it...
Now we have the Lottery, Run by the State

Once Upon a Time, Homosexuality Was Illegal.
And there was a Lot of Tax Dollars Spent

Really! They were called the Vice Squad.

A Hobby of Mine... Distributing Truth on Facebook...

Fact: JFK and LBJ have the blood of Vietnam on their hands... It was Nixon that ended the war. His policy of "Vietnamization" makes so much sense... Those people over there ought to fight their own civil war... It's none of our Business.

VK: OK, who hacked into Greg's FB and is writing like a revisionist Republican? Are you saying my first teenage vote to re-elect Nixon was the historically correct action? NROTC boy done good?

Greg Vanderlaan: I read a lot of history books, VK and while Richard Nixon campaigned against the war in Vietnam in 1968 he didn't actually end it until 1973... so he had 5 years of blood on his hands too... When we got to vote in 1972, both candidates were against the war... An insightful book is 'Will' by G. Gordon Liddy... and ALL of Bob Woodward's Books.

Trump fails to deliver "Fire and Fury" after North Korea continues to threaten the USA.

I guess Guam doesn't really count as a threat... It's not a state... We won't be starting WW3 over a Territory...

Rex Tillerson, our secretary of State, says we all should sleep well and not worry... It's just Trump Talking Tough... No REAL action planned.

"Tillerson: Trump's Tough Talk Aims to Send Message to North Korea " https://www.usnews.com/news/world/articles/2017-08-09/tillerson-trump-tough-talk-aims-to-send-message-to-north-korea

Why not use EMAIL if we want to send a message? or Pick up the phone? What if our Ambassador made arrangements for the two leaders to mud wrestle instead?

The stock market goes down due to Trump's "Goofball Antics" and Threat of Nuclear War. The adults that own America are not amused by puffed up Yadda Yadda Yadda...

"Trump promised 'fire and fury' for North Korea if it continued threats — hours later, it threatened strikes on Guam...  Hours after President Donald Trump said he'd respond to more North Korean threats on the US with "fire and fury" unlike the world had ever seen, North Korea responded Tuesday with a threat, saying it was considering a missile strike on Guam."
