Great Book: "I, Robot" by Isaac Asimov... The beginning of "The Robots Series" of books... also a Great Movie...

The three laws of Robotics:
1) A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm
2) A robot must obey orders give in to it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3) A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

With this, Asimov changed our perception of robots forever when he formulated the laws governing their behavior. In I, Robot, Asimov chronicles the development of the robot through a series of interlinked stories: from its primitive origins in the present to its ultimate perfection in the not-so-distant future--a future in which humanity itself may be rendered obsolete.

Here are stories of robots gone mad, of mind-read robots, and robots with a sense of humor. Of robot politicians, and robots who secretly run the world--all told with the dramatic blend of science fact & science fiction that became Asmiov's trademark.

Robots of Death

Great Books: "Caves of Steel" and "The Foundation Trilogy" by Isaac Asimov... and the "Robots" books... There are about 16 books that merge together in Asimov's view of the Galaxy.

The Robot Series and The Foundation Series... and Prequels, sequels, and more, more, more books about the same subjects...

In the Foundation Trilogy we are introduced to the concept of Encyclopedia Galactica that stores all knowledge of all people everywhere... or as we know it today, Wikipedia...

Asimov also proposes Psycho-History... a way to calculate and predict The Future... We haven't figured out how to do that yet but... that seems to be a major goal of Artificial Intelligence...

In the Robots Books we are introduced to the Three Laws of Robotics which prevent Robots from harming People... Clearly, THAT is not how we do things... For Example: Drones that Drop Bombs on People...
